Antibes is a pretty market town and port with a pedestrianised old town, sea front walks and beaches, and excellent museums including a Picasso museum. There is an aqua park near by, horse racing at Cagnes sur Mer, walks and cycling near Valbonne in the hills overlooking Juan-les-Pins, and football at the Nice stadium which is a twenty minute drive. A golf course is nearby in Biot (a fifteen minute drive). Juan-les-Pins is a resort town with diving and watersports, blue flag beaches with lifeguards, and many bars and restaurants with sea views. Cannes with its famous Croisette is a ten-minute drive or a short train ride. It has excellent restaurants and bars and a lively market.

A car though not necessary gives you an easy way of exploring the area. Nice and Cannes are both a short drive away but you can also get there by train (twenty five minutes to Nice from Juan les Pins station). Nice has a great old town, very good museums and shopping and a huge mix of bars and restaurants. A twenty and forty minute drive are Mougins and St Paul de Vence which are beautiful, provencal villages with art galleries, artisan shops, wine tasting and fantastic views. Monaco is one hour away by train or you can drive the lovely coastal route.
