The flat is tucked back from the main street, facing the beautiful glacially fed Arve river. The private balcony has views of Mont Blanc and catches the morning and early afternoon sun. It sleeps 6 people.
We are open to considering a seasonal winter rental from after 1 January for a period of not less than 4 months. Contact us before August if you are interested for the following winter season.

Layout:
There is a master bedroom with a double bed, a family bunk room with 2 bunk beds (4 single beds) as well as a double pull out sofa in the living room. Each bedroom has plenty of room to walk around and ample storage in closets and wardrobes.

There are two WCs (separated from the bath facilities), one shower room (off of the master bedroom), and one bath tub/shower (off of the family bedroom).

We meet you to give you the keys and show you the apartment operations. It is very important that you communicate your arrival time with us. The building door is an electronic key, not a code, so we do not have a key drop box.
We live year-round in Chamonix about 10 minutes away from the apartment. We will leave you to enjoy your holiday but we are available in case of any questions. If we are on holiday ourselves, we will leave you with a local contact in case of any emergencies.

For early arrivals, it is possible by prior arrangement to drop your luggage off for storage while the flat is being cleaned.
For luggage storage -- someone must meet you on the property in person - so please tell us before booking if you will be arriving in town before 15h and require this, otherwise it is not guaranteed.
We normally require a Saturday arrival date.
If you have a long term booking in mind (more than 7 days) and wish to arrive on another day, please send an enquiry and we will consider your request.

About the neighbourhood
Ski season starts normally in mid-December and ends in early May.
Hiking season runs from mid June until mid September for hut to hut hiking in the higher mountains. Good walking weather can often still be found in October, though the mountain refuges are shut.

Between the main summer and winter seasons many lifts in town are shut. If you don't mind walking uphill the mid-September to late October season can be stunningly beautiful in the valley, with fewer tourists and lovely colour in the trees.

Chamonix is a year-round resort town, steeped in alpine history (the first winter Olympics were held in Chamonix in 1924) and is renowned for skiing as well as mountaineering, hiking and climbing with famous peaks such as Mont Blanc (4810m), Mont Buet, Aiguille Verte and the Drus....

Getting around
The free Chamonix bus service runs year-round every 30 minutes from the main bus stop - only 2 minutes walk from the flat. In peak seasons, express buses run more. Service to all towns and lifts in the valley.

If driving in winter, take a car equipped with snow tyres, not chains (chains are notoriously difficult to put on when you need them in a snow drift).

Once you are in town, in winter we strongly recommend you park the car in the underground car park and leave it. Use our free ski buses to avoid crowded and icy sloping car parks.

The vast majority of street parking in Chamonix is now pay parking.

Airport: Geneva Airport : 90.0 km
Railway: Chamonix SNCF station: 0.2 km
The SNCF train station is a 5 minute walk to the apartment and is a great way to travel without a car.

If flying, we strongly recommend the Geneva airport in Switzerland. Other airports (Lyon, Milan) require car rental to get to Chamonix and are longer trips.

We are a one hour drive from Geneva airport. There are many van transfer companies set up to take people between Geneva and Chamonix and the average price is between 25-40 euros each way per person. Upon booking we can send you a list of reliable companies.

Our apartment is in the historic town centre pedestrian zone, which means you can't drive to the flat. There are city car parks 2 and 5 minute walks from the flat.
