Newly built in 2012. The prestigious Residence Les Alpes is the preserved renovation of the Old Hotel de Paris, renowned for the charm and the architectural style of Chamonix. It is located right in the very heart of Chamonix on historic Rue Dr Paccard, Chamonix's pedestrianised main shopping street, close to Place Balmat (the main square), and offers unrivalled access to the town's superb shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife, museums and other attractions, all right on its doorstep - only the nearby post office has a more central address! It is an ideal base for all that Chamonix has to offer, with the whole of the valley easily accessible by the in-resort ski-bus (free with your carte d'hotes) which stops only a minute from the apartment, yet its location and come-and-go ease of access make it additionally suited to families and to groups of mixed abilities or having different interests. It has been built on the edge of the river l'Arve, with amazing views of the Mont Blanc Massif from around its garden areas. The main ski school Maison de la Montagne, L'Aiguilles du Midi and Le Savoy ski lift are all only minutes away. The apartment is just fabulous and will give you a true taste of what Chamonix is about. AlpesA is finished to a luxurious alpine standard of Chamonix accommodation. The apartment is fully equipped with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom. The floors are a combination of tiles in the living areas with wood in the bedroom. The furniture is top of the range and produced by local craftsmen with large patio doors and windows overlooking the Chamonix valley. The lounge has a large comfortable sofa that converts into a king size double bed. There is a dining table and chairs plus additional soft seating and a huge fluffy rug. There is a large flat screen TV plus DVD player for tired leg days. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-size oven, four-ring halogen hob, extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and plenty of cupboard storage full of utensils. The bedroom has twins beds that can be pushed together to form a double bed, a huge built-in wardrobe, a storage chest and soft lighting. The bathroom is has a bath and shower over it, full size basin and plenty of storage plus a WC. The basement includes a private ski locker and private car park space (included in the price). There is a lovely balcony where you can watch the world go by. The apartment also comes with a free wireless ADSL internet connection. The setting of Residence Les Alpes is just perfect for anyone - a peaceful Chamonix ski apartment but also right in the heart of it - full of historic character and charm. Linen and tourist tax are the only extra costs not included in the price of your holiday. Linen is £16.5 per single bed and £33 per double bed (note not per person) - this includes a full bed plus towels. Tourist tax is €0.90 per night for all persons over 12 years charged by the Mairie - this tax does entitle you to the Chamonix Carte d'Hote which offers you free transport in the valley and other discounts around town.More

Perfect town centre location close to the shops, restaurants and bars but surprisingly very quiet. Modern, clean, well maintained apartment with wi-fi and underground parking (no scrapping off the ice and snow). MyFrench Chalet agents very helpful. Thoroughly recommend this apartment.

About the neighbourhood
Chamonix, situated at the foot of Mont Blanc, is undoubtedly the alpine capital of the world. From December to May mountain lovers flock to Chamonix since it boasts something for skiers and boarders of all abilities, with a chance to enjoy very long runs, tree-lined routes, free riding, beginner slopes and epic off-piste with awe-inspiring scenery and some of the world's steepest and most challenging descents. From June to September, Chamonix becomes the mecca centre for climbing, mountaineering, biking and hiking. Chamonix is a large town, so night owls will also love it here, as there are plenty of buzzing bars continuing late into the night with live bands. Or escape from the party scene in one of the regions excellent cafes and restaurants. There are also plenty of day-time attractions...
Getting around
Chamonix has a superb bus network and a great little train line that runs up and down the valley regularly throughout the day and up to the evening (and all this is free with your guest cards). There are also car parks a each ski station should you wish to drive.
