Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Comfortable and well situated
This was our third stay of a month in this apartment, and it was just as good as the previous times! The location is very close to St Peter's and the Vatican which gives the area a lively feel, with many good local shops and restaurants. The apartment itself is very quiet and comfortable with (this being winter) very good central heating. Maria Luisa is a great hostess - will fix transport from the airport, and provide advice on all manner of things, and is always available to help if needed. This apartment has almost become a home from home for us and will provide an equally comfortable base for a long or short stay.

Great little flat
Clean, quiet, well equipped flat close to the Vatican, groceries and public transit. Was the perfect base from which to explore Roma with our adult daughter. It isn’t huge, but we didn’t feel at all crowded. Owner was lovely to work with. We took advantage of her offer to arrange transportation from the airport to the flat and were very pleased with the service.

Great Proximity to Tourist Sights.
Being located close to the Vatican, we were able to walk everywhere in discovering this lovely Roman City, ticking off the sights that we had come from Perth, Western Australia to see. By walking, we were able to get a feel of Rome, its people and its history, knowing that we had a delightful 'home' in Rome to return to. Having an effective A/C system was a blessing as the days were quite hot and humid during our stay. Effective WiFi also, with plenty of personal space to spread out! Maria-Louisa ensured that our stay of 5 days was most comfortable and enjoyable, with plenty of tourist literature readily available on hand and with frequent correspondence, responding to any questions, before our entry here. This apartment is a very good find!

Vatican Flat
Enjoyed our stay. Great walking distance to Vatican & Castel Saint’Angelo! Other touristy areas needed a short bus ride. Bus stop & metro where within 5 minutes walk from apartment. Lots of eatery, banks & shops around apartment block. Having air conditioning in the apartment was a huge plus because Rome was an inferno during our stay with temperatures in the 90s or 33+ Celsius🥵 María Luisa, the host is the best one you’ll ever encounter. Mille grazzie María Luisa!!

Cosy Central Apartment
This spacious apartment is located very centrally and right across the road from the Vatican. It is one of many in the building which is quite old but beautiful. Antique lift that works well. Air conditioning was great and the apartment very clean. Maria-Luisa was a wealth of information and provided recommendations for restaurants, supermarkets and the metro etc. It was a bit far to walk to the other main attractions, but you just need to allow more time, otherwise the metro wasnt far away. Nice restaurants, bars and cafes directly outside the building which gave it a nice feel.

A wonderful Apartment in Every Way for our Roman Holiday
Fantastic location, near the Metro A line, a short walk to the Vatican and the Historic District. The apartment is in a gracious Beaux Arts building very close to the entrance to the Vatican Museum. We stayed in the apartment initially for 12 days in March and, it was so great, we stayed there for another four days in April after returning from an extended stay in the South so we could take a rest period before our trip to Northern Italy. It felt like coming home. This is an extremely quiet apartment with a large bedroom with plenty of closest space, a separate kitchen, a separate dining room, a sitting area and a nice bathroom. A beautiful wrought iron elevator takes you up to the second floor. Maria Louisa, our charming and gracious hostess, maintains the apartment in an immaculate condition. She is quite fluent in English. She spent much time upon our arrival in giving my wife and I thorough navigational directions for getting to the monuments and museums and had many guide books and maps available for our use. Maria Louisa arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and later take us to the train station. We have visited Rome twice over the last 12 months and will certainly stay in this apartment on our next visit. This area, known as the Prati District, is quite elegant and has very fine restaurants at good prices. If you want to bring food back to the apartment to enjoy in the spacious kitchen with dining table, stop off at No Solo Pizza up the street for home-made pasta dishes, chicken and other dishes. Maria Louisa has a good list of restaurant recommendations. The rental price for this apartment is an extremely good value considering it's location, size, and amenities.

Small but impressive. Ideal for a couple that likes authentic apartments.
Maria-Luisa is a very welcoming host and really looked after us. It's an ideal location for the Vatican and is still close to all the main attractions. We'll come back here on our return. The area has some excellent restaurants close to hand, especially (for us) Ago e Lillo, fantastic food and the waiting staff are superb (they even taught us how to say "buono" properly).

A perfect place to discover Roma
A simple - though comfortable - appartment in the city center of Roma, just in front of the Vatican walls, in a really nice building. The appartment is perfect for two people. We were three and my stay was OK even if I slept on a pretty narrow sofa. But I wouldn't change anything. How great it was, indeed, to wake up with the sunlight and see the sacred city! Maria Luisa was really welcoming and warm and gave us lots of ideas and tips to enjoy our stay in Roma. Moreover, she speaks a really good French - it reassured my parents who cannot speak English. She was also available for any question we could have. Public transportation is just in front of the building. You will find restaurants, bars and shops all around. Thanks for everything.

Michel MORTELETTE

About the neighbourhood
One state living in another: Italy and the Vatican. The Vatican is the tiniest sovereign state, whose centre is the magnificent St. Peters Basilica, where the Pope recites the Angelus prayers every Sunday. Its Basilica is a “must” for anyone coming to Rome.Do however remember to dress properly. The wearing of short skirts or short trousers and sleeveless dresses inside the Basilica is not allowed. The Vatican State also includes the splendid Vatican Museums.Among the most important and interesting in the world, a visit to the museum however does require a great deal of energy and patience. Queuing times may be shortened by booking online. The alleys encompassing the Vatican are part of the “Borgo” district, narrow, dimly-lit roads, packed with restaurants and souvenir shops which sharply contrast with the spacious, broad Via della Conciliazione. The Prati district offers an altogether different atmosphere which, with its shop-lined roads, attracts the serious shopper.

The most convenient way to see the sites is walking as you will be in a very central and strategic location. Anyway there is al so available the metro station 'Ottaviano- San Pietro', A line, in 350 meters and many buses and tram stops in 100 meters.
