We used Ventimiglia as a stop for the Monaco Grand Prix. Monaco is very easy for this by train. The town does have some great markets and is deserving of a visit by itself. The B&B was as described, The terrace was lovely for breakfast. The walk up to the unit is a bit of a struggle from the train station with bags as it is in the old part of town at the top of the hill so would suggest a taxi. The room we had was large but a bit cluttered with an eclectic mix of furnishings. The room had its own bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable and included free Wi-Fi. There was some confusion with the payment using flip key and trip advisor as the owner normally takes bookings from one of the large hotels booking companies so take your receipt of payment with you. There is a great little trattoria just a bit further up the hill for a family owned authentic Italian dining experience "Porta Nizza" Lots of locals eating there - always a good indication.
