About the neighbourhood
In your apartment you'll find a full guide to all local restaurants and things to do and see in the area. Cortona is a really historic and special little town. It's a walk through history - from the Etruscans, Romans, medieval and renaissance periods right up to the modern day. Lots of windy alleys to explore, cafe's for cappuccino, lounge bars for cocktails, restaurants for casual and fine dining; markets and stores with local produce and crafts. Something for everyone! You are a short walk to Pergo the nearest village with a fabulous bar for coffee's or an aperitivo. And It's just a 10 minute drive to the town of Cortona famed for it's part in the movie and book 'Under The Tuscan Sun' by Frances May.
Getting around
You'll definitely need a car. Whilst we are close to towns we are a couple of km off the main road. There is no public transport here but in nearby Camucia or Terontola there is a fantastic rail network linking you with the whole of Italy for excursions to Rome or Florence just an hour away.
