Royal Oak, Hurdlow what a gem!! We visited on a cold winters evening & was thankful of the open fire & the prompt service. We ordered soon after we arrived & it wasn't long before we were tucking into a roast dinner. We made another visit for a family celebration when we was seated downstairs which resembled an old cellar,...

Management response:

Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review for our pub, The Royal Oak at Hurdlow. This is our self-catering farm house nearby Oak Tree Farm - if you get a chance maybe you could pop it over to The Royal Oak at Hurdlow? Many thanks in advance

A lovely property, for a family reunion. Spacious with good facilities. There is quite a big difference between the "best" rooms and the ones with limited facilities. I don't think it is suitable for a group of couple as there is a large master bedroom and some small bedroom, even one with bunks. Some of the bedroom don't have wardrobes...

Management response:

It is a shame you didn't get chance to make use of the outside space as the garden at Oak Tree Farm is a real asset, we hope you stay with...

We have just returned from a week at Oak Tree Farm, staying with our extended family comprising ten adults, two crawling babies and three young children aged 6, 4 and 3 years. We have stayed at several large holiday houses over the years, from Northumberland to Devon, and personally I feel Oak Tree Farm is the best so far. The...

About the neighbourhood
Oak Tree Farm is situated two miles from the pretty village of Longnor which is located in the Staffordshire Moorlands and positioned between the River Dove to the East and the River Manifold to the West, making it a perfect location to explore this stunning area. The village has great amenities with a general store, a café, a post office, an excellent craft centre and a tea-room. Longnor is unique with its old cobbled market square, which still forms the heart of the village. The market hall stands prominent on the square and still has the board outside which show the charges that the stall holders used to pay. More recently Longnor has been used as a film location for the TV series Peak Practice.

The Spa town of Buxton is only a short 10 minute drive away from Oak Tree... more
