Ruby Cottage is a traditional 200 year old two stone cottage, quietly situated in the quaint village of Longnor close to the popular spa town of Buxton, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The village is well equipped with local stores, pubs, Post Office, craft centre/café and renowned fish and chip shop. There are many stunning walks right from the doorstep and the cottage is close to many interesting Derbyshire towns and attractions such as Bakewell, Matlock, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Lovely cosy cottage, very friendly atmosphere and very welcoming hosts. We arrived very late but the heating and lights were already on for us. Highly recommended

We recently spent a long weekend at Ruby Cottage, which is a lovely place to stay. The owners were friendly and helpful up on our arrival - we thoroughly enjoyed the complementary wine and mince pies. We stayed here for a week. Had a nightmare journey on public transport with train caught in flooding - delayed by nearly 3 hours! FROM M6, from south:<BR>Leave the M6 at junction 15 and take the A500 toward Stoke on Trent. then the A50 toward Uttoxeter, then the A520 to Leek. In Leek follow signs for the A523 to Buxton. After approx 4 miles, take the right turn (past the Winking Man pub) to Longnor – approx another 4 miles. <BR>On entering Longnor, continue past the market place on your right, through the sharp bend by the Horseshoe pub and take the first turning on your right into Church Street.
