Located at the south-westerly tip of the province of Drenthe (approx. 2 hours east of Amsterdam), is renowned for the open-air productions of Shakespeare which have been re-enacted in its forest amphitheatre every summer since 1946.

In the village there is a grocery store, an award-winning bakery, a good variety of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and a bank. There is a market, encircling the 14th century church, selling everything from clothes to local products – held in Diever every Monday throughout the Summer months.

There is also a Dutch National Tourist office in Diever with a wealth of information on the surrounding area. The farmhouse is just a 10-minute walk away from one of the largest areas of natural beauty in the Netherlands!

By car:
- A car is recommended though not essential (rental cars also available at the airports) with easy access to the towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) & the city of Groningen (40 minutes).

By Public Transport:
- Public transport (bus) is just a few minutes walk away with links to the surrounding villages and towns. The nearest train station is at Beilen (20 minutes away) with direct services to Groningen (30 minutes) & Amsterdam Airport (2 hours)
