My apartment is located at a so called hofje (courtyard) and that is very special. Built by the famous architect Berlage it is situaded in a block in which there is a big garden. No traffic is heard and so an oasis of peace in the city buzz.East is the most popular area in Amsterdam at the moment. It has good restaurants, lots of good coffeebars, and on each corner a yogastudio. It is a melting pot with many different cultures, middle eastern shops, food market and good transport. It is small and cosy and has a minimalistic interior. It has everything you will need. Whether you are on business or leisure.

About the neighbourhood
East is the place now where the locals go out. It is very popular because of the nice coffeebars, restaurants and bars. A foodmarket and supermarkets are just round the corner. It is very lively, multi culti but an oasis in town since my apartment is in a so called hofje (courtyard) with a beautiful silent garden where you hear no traffic from the street. Holocaust Museum, Hortus Botanicus, Hermitage: all walking distance (nice walk about 15 -20 minutes). Flevopark: There is a very nice bar with terrace overlooking the pond. Its a spot where locals go.In this area is also an open air swimming pool, called the FlevoBad. Very nice pool. Oosterpark: The Oosterpark is just the opposite direction of the FlevoPark. In the
Transport Tram 14 (crossing the street in front of the Library which is Bibliotheek). Tram 14 goes to the city center Damsquare and palace on the Dam. Tram 7 (take Molukkenstraat till the first big crossing, in front of the restaurant on the corner). Tram 7 goes to the Rijksmuseum, Leidsesquare, Food&Filmhalls.

How to get there
Airport: Schiphol Airport: 10.0 km
Railway: Central Station: 4.0 km
From the Airport to the Apartment The train station is in the airport at the arrivals Hall. In the Hall there is a Dutch Railways office where you can buy tickets either to Central Station. I advise you to buy tickets for the bus/tram also there since the offices / shops are closed early.Take the main exit and at your left is the bus station. Take bus 22. It is 9 stops to Javaplein/Molukkenstraat. Once you get of the bus cross the street which is Javastreet. You cross Javastreet in front of number 179 and at your left is the Benkoelenstraat.
At the central station there is a GVB Ticket & info desk (open from 8.00 – 18.00). You can buy tickets there, like a day pass which allows you to take all the public transport.
