Quinta de Sant'Ana and the Lemon Garden House ticked all our boxes for a family holiday with 2 pre-school children - spacious accomodation, enclosed garden, close to (shared) pool (less then 1 min walk) with a lawn and big trampoline next to it, village location with few small shops and local cafe/restaurants, walks and things to do and see around the estate and short distance to other activities - beach at Foz do Lizandro 20 mins drive, Lisbon about an hour away.

The owners James and Ann are friendly and helpful but don't intrude if you want privacy. And there is a bonus for parents - great wine produced on the estate.

The house is well equipped and furnished in a shabby chic albeit slightly battered style and the surroundings of the estate are beautiful.

We have had 2 memorable and relaxing family holidays here over the last 2 years and hope to return again in the future although unfortunately we are limited to school holidays now which makes it more...

With our three little boys we spent a lovely time at the lemongarden of Quinta de Sant Ana. There was everything we needed: pool, trampolin, toys, animals, high chair etc. Everything little boys love.
Our charming hostess was always helpful to give us advice and tips where to go out or what to see.
We loved it and we will definetly come back!

About the neighbourhood
Quinta de Sant'Ana overlooks the picturesque village of Gradil with its cobbled streets, white washed houses and hospitable inhabitants on one side and a stunning coulisse of vineyards, lined with ancient olive trees and cypresses on the south side. Twelve hectares are vineyards, an ambitious and quality driven project. The remainder is split up between eucalyptus forests, fruit orchards and meadows.<BR><BR>The oldest part of the estate is the chapel, which dates back to 1633 and has a beautiful statue of Saint Anne and typical hand-painted 'Azulejos' (ceramic tiles).
