Our neighborhood is picturesque, busy, and full of history.
The building and the apartment have good acoustic insulation, and the apartment is at the back of the building, which makes it even quieter.
Is surrounded by delicious restaurants and wine bars, typical narrow streets, and cafes "al fresco". Walking distance to main monuments!

Beautiful apartment in the heart of the Old Town
We loved our week in this quirky apartment! Spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable, we felt at home straight away. Many Thanks to Teresa for arranging taxi transfers for us, for the port and delicious chocolate cake and for making our stay in Porto so special!

Très bel appartement
Bel appartement en plein coeur de Porto.
Nous y avons séjourné pendant 5 nuits.
Les points positifs :
- Bonne communication avec Teresa (la propriétaire) en anglais via airbnb, elle répond rapidement et nous a bien tout expliqué pour le check-in.
- Mention spéciale pour son guide expliquant tout ce qu’il faut pour l’appartement et pour les visites, restaurants, etc. Elle l’envoie à l’avance par mail. Il est très bien fait, c’est la première fois que je vois ça.
- L’appartement est très bien situé, en plein coeur des sites touristiques.
- Accueil par sa collègue Andrea : très gentille et souriante. Accueil simple, rapide et efficace.
- L’appartement est très cosy, bien décoré, très bien équipé, fonctionnel. Le mobilier est de bonne qualité, tout semble neuf. Il est également très propre.
- On est accueilli avec un excellent gâteau au chocolat fait maison par Teresa, ainsi que du Porto bien sûr :) Une planche de charcuterie et fromages accompagnait également le gâteau. Merci pour toutes ses attentions !
- Télévision avec plusieurs chaînes française. Netflix disponible : on a pu profiter de regarder des films pendant les soirs de pluie, c’était sympa.
- Check-out autonome : pas besoin d’attendre quelqu’un, on peut partir quand on le souhaite (jusqu’à l’heure maximum du check-out bien sûr).
Les points à améliorer :
- Literie assez ferme, en particulier les oreillers (dur pour les nuques fragiles). Peut-être prévoir des oreillers plus fins et plus moelleux.
- L’eau de la douche s’écoulait très lentement.
- Insonorisation avec l’appartement du dessus : attention, il n’y a aucune insonorisation ! Le parquet de l’immeuble est certes de qualité, mais il n’y a aucun isolant, vous entendez donc les voisins du dessus comme s’ils étaient chez vous ! Et pour notre part, nous n’avons pas eu de chance : des touristes au-dessus se sont succédés pendant notre séjour, ils marchaient comme des hippopotames, impossible de dormir avant 1h du matin et le bruit reprenait dès 7h du matin. On a bien tapé au plafond plusieurs fois, mais sans succès. Teresa connaît le problème et a déjà prévenu le propriétaire du dessus plusieurs fois, mais c’est peine perdue avec des touristes je pense… Teresa a eu la bonne idée de surelever son appartement, elle nous avait prévenu de marcher doucement (ce que nous avons fait), mais ce que manifestement le propriétaire du dessus n’a pas fait… Il faudrait vraiment que le propriétaire du dessus fasse des travaux d’isolation phonique.
On recommande tout de même ce très bel appartement pour sa qualité, sa situation et la communication avec la propriétaire.

Wundervolles Appartement in toller Lage
Wir hätten es nicht besser treffen können. Das Appartement ist schön und komfortabel eingerichtet und dazu auch noch sehr sauber. Die Gastgeberin kümmert sich um die Wünsche und ist stets für einen da.
Die Lage ist für uns ein absoluter Traum. Egal ob Sightseeing in der Altstadt, einen Drink am Douro, Besichtigung eines Weinkellers oder gute Anbindung mit Bus und Bahn.
Wir empfehlen diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiter!

Juste Parfait
L’accueil de Teresa est très chaleureux, elle est aux petits soins pour ses locataires. Un gâteau, fait maison accompagné de Porto nous attendait à notre arrivée. Teresa veille à ce que tout soit parfait et elle y réussi parfaitement.
L’appartement est très bien aménagé, fonctionnel et confortable. Nous étions deux couples, nous avons vraiment apprécié cette location.
L’appartement est idéalement situé pour visiter le centre de Porto. Tout peut être fait à pied. Nous n’avons pris le tram que pour le plaisir.
Une très bonne expérience que nous recommandons.

The best experience in Porto (and maybe the world!)
I have traveled all over the world and have stayed in all kinds of properties ranging from 5*+ to budget. No where, and I really mean no where have I encountered the kind of incredible, from the heart experience that we received at Janika's apartment. Teresa's communication was always on-point, and unbelievably helpful both before, during and after the stay. She just gets it, effortlessly. The apartment is absolutely stunning, the location perfect, and the extra, thoughtful touches really make the experience. This is everything you've ever dreamed of in an apartment rental when traveling, and then some! Thank you so, so much for everything!!!

Great location, lovely place
We had a great time in Porto which was made even better thanks to this place and Teresa’s helpful tips and guidance. She was so welcoming and even helped arrange transportation for us — it felt like we were staying with a friend. The apartment is cozy and charming with a really great, central location. It was easy to walk to all the key sites and wonderful eateries. Our two children loved the apartment as it had a cute play area just for them. We were four people with luggage for two weeks of travel so we filled up the apartment fairly fully. However, it remained cozy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone spending time in Porto.

Un vrai bijou en plein cœur de Porto !!
L’appartement de Teresa est tout simplement un petit bijou ! Situé dans un ancien entrepôt dédié à la reine morue (accessible par un ascenseur flambant neuf), l’appartement entièrement rénové est à deux pas du Douro et de son pont mythique. Ce qui attire immédiatement l’attention est le goût avec lequel ce dernier a été décoré, pierres apparentes conservées, aucune perte de place, un salon cosy pour se détendre devant Netflix après une journée à crapahuter dans les rues de Porto et surtout une chambre parfaitement insonorisée avec un lit de grande qualité. Enfin quelques détails amusants comme cet espace proche de la cabane pour enfant situé sous le salon ou encore cette mappemonde où sont épinglés les pays dont sont originaires les précédents voyageurs.
Je conseille cet appartement sans aucune réserve !!!

Perfect apartment in Porto
Teresa was the best host for our 4 night stay in Porto. She sat with us and shared highlights of Porto and had a well organized binder of recommendations and directions.The contemporary furnished apartment could sleep 4.The bedroom was bright and large and the living room couch made a comfortable second bed.The location was prime for cafes,stores, the riverfront activity and it's a 10 minute walk from Sao Bento train station. Her kitchen was well equipped with dishwasher,washing machine,coffee pods,olive oil and her signature fresh cake and a carafe of port to welcome us. Her apartment provided us a delightful visit to Porto!

Perfect spot! Perfect accommodation!! Perfect host!!!
Stayed with my wife for 4 nights during July. The apartment was perfect for our stay in Porto, close to the river and all places of interest. Teresa met us upon our arrival after having arranged a taxi from the airport for us. Her friendly welcome was fantastic making us not only feel welcome but part of her family. Her recommendations for places to visit and eat were perfect. The information we received from Teresa and Miguel following our booking was brilliant, probably the best we have recieved from all our holiday bookings. The apartment, in an old building which has been cleverly renovated, has been designed in a modern and creative manner and was immaculately clean and had all that we needed for our stay. The cake, decanter of port and other provisions were the icing on the cake. Teresa also kept in touch with us throughout our stay giving us last minute updates regarding local news and any changes to tourist spots. Teresa was the perfect host. We really could not have asked for more!!!

Our neighborhood is the heart of the historic center, UNESCO World Heritage, called Ribeira - one of the oldest and most typical of Porto. You will be delighted to get lost in the loveliest narrow streets and stairways, and to try our delicious cuisine in typical or fancy restaurants - yes, there are both types in Ribeira! Ribeira is now bursting with life - new restaurants, beautiful renovated buildings, charming shops, and all this busy life together with hidden, quiet typical streets...
There is a very complete grocery store 10 meters from the apartment, and also a bakery at 50 meters.
We will give you many suggestions on where to walk, the best restaurants, the main attractions and monuments and other information super useful.

As we are in the Historic Center of Porto, you won't be needing much transport other than your feet to see the main attractions.

Our apartment is a walk away from all main transports - São Bento Train Station is 5 min., Metro is 5 min., Bus is 2 min., Taxi 2 min.
There are several car parks near the apartment that can be booked in advance. The daily cost is around 15 eur.
Reliable taxi service available can be booked in advance for transportation to and from the airport, and other routes. Baby car chair available.
Tourist Tax
As from March the 1st, 2018, the city of Porto will be charging a charge a Tourist Tax of Eur 2 per tourist per day (only for those over 13 years old), up to the maximum of Eur 14 per person. This fee is intended to help consolidate Porto as more sustainable and attractive city.
