Located in the heart of the historic center of Athens, in Thissio region, on the pedestrian road which links the major sights of the antique city, right in front of the Ancient agora (forum), this minimal studio offers breathtaking views of the Acropolis from the interior, as well as from its private terrace.
The studio is on the rooftop of a late 19th century neoclassical house, which has been recently renovated.
It is minimally furnished but fully equipped with all the amenities.
A large private terrace offers splendid views of the Acropolis, the famous neighbourhoods of the old city ‘Plaka’, the Ancient agora, the exceptional Asteroscopion (Observatory), the Mont Lycabettus, as well as a great part of the city and the surrounding hills.

Good place and as expected at all
Very nice and beautiful place to live. All you need from house things is there. Many places to view and to eat directly at house door. Very helpful and nice owner. Good price!

Relaxing in the city
Nice Studio with a large terrace and a great view. Close to a lot of good Cafés/Restaurants and Supermarkets. Close to several Museum points and shopping streets.

Fantastic location and awesome view
We loved this place. Amazing central location and yet tranquil at night. The BEST view from the large roof terrace. Compact apartment but well equipped. I stayed with my wife and two teenage sons. The boys didn't want to share the sofa bed, so one made up a bed on the floor, no problem. We were all comfy. The owner is lovely: attentive but not intrusive. I recommend this place highly for excellent value self catering.

Acropolis perfection
First and foremost the views of the acropolis are simply breathtaking. From the moment one sets foot inside the studio. The views are so amazing that one wants to remain awake simply to continue to enjoy them, morning, day and night. At night the light up acropolis site makes the views simply mesmerizing. After visiting the site and the acropolis museum, one comes to realize that no even the very modern, large and comprehensive museum. The museum views simply can not rival the views that the studio.
The studio is just above a very lively area, full of cafes and restaurants with extraordinary local and international food. there is pretty much something for every taste within a few steps.
The studio is very comfortable, and thank you to the minimalistic approach in the furniture it feels rather spacious. The bed, couch, and table are comfortable. So is the furniture in the extremely large balcony area from where you can enjoy the views all day (and night long). It is an studio so the kitchen and bathroom are small but more than well equipped and sufficient for two.
There is one thing that people considering should be aware of. Behind the lovely weathered door of the building the studio is in a third story. Therefore there are a few seps to get through. First a very beautiful up curved marble staircase to the second story and then a slightly narrower staircase leading to the studio this is an iron structure staircase with marble steps.
If you are not used or simply dislike stair steps may want to think it through.
However I feel completely obligated to say that even if you dislike stairs or the exercise of going up and down the view from the living space of the studio is truly remarkable just to sit there and stare at the parthenon and the temple of Athena for as long as you want.

Stunning views and prime location
The perfect location for a great price! Stunning views, the largest roof top balcony, right above great restaurants and not a far walk from downtown. Our host was so lovely and always quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Athens!

Good Budget Experience in Athens GR
The incredible views of the Acropolis, day and night (lit up stunningly all night!) from the balcony porch of this top-floor unit would be its main point of recommendation. It is situated on a sort-of-pedestrianized street (taxis can come to the corner two doors down) with lots of restaurants and pretty much nothing else (but with a well-equipped grocery store within ten minutes walk). That street, in one direction, becomes tree-lined and leads to one of the entrances to the acropolis and another park before becoming a city street again; in the other direction lie the Thissio (Theseio) metro stop and the super-touristy Plaka area. All walkable in maybe 15 minutes.
It is on the third floor (no lift, we counted 56 steps) of a regular older city building. The unit, a one-room "studio", reminded us of the kind of simple student lodgings from yesteryear. No frills, no TV, but - for us with our simple tastes and expectations - totally adequate. A tiny kitchen, ditto bathroom (both fully workable), good bed, and - again - that million-dollar view for a very very reasonable price. The owner lives elsewhere, a friend who lives on the second floor takes care of things, she was incredibly helpful and accommodating on arrival and the few times we needed her.

Marvelous View of Acropolis from Studio Apartment in Athens
My 80th birthday treat was to see the Acropolis in person because I clearly recall studying about it in high school. I was blown away by the view and the easy walk to get on the grounds and walk among the relics. Fantastic location. The apartment is spare but adequate. The three floor climb was doable. And Christine was a very attentive host; she answered email quickly and gave good ideas for adventure if we would have had more time. The men in the restaurant below the studio were very helpful; we ate there twice. Breakfast was especially good. There were many restaurants in the area and lots of shopping, plus it is close to the metro system.

A dream come true!
Overlooking the Ancient and Roman Agora with an amazing view of the Parthenon. A front row seat to the beauty and splendor of these timeless wonders from the room's rooftop terrace. Within easy walking distance to the Acropolis, as well as the Monasttiraki and Plaka neighborhoods. Christina was a pleasure to work with and a special thank you to Mary! Perfect view in Athens!!
This is one of our favorite vacation rentals we have stayed in! The view of the Acropolis is absolutely stunning, and the location couldn’t be better. Walking distance to all the ancient sites, surrounded by cafes and cute shopping stalls, and the building itself is so charming. When you walk into the stairwell it even smells like chocolate croissants! We will absolutely be back here again

About the neighbourhood
The neigbourhood, "Thissio", comes from the ancient temple, which was supposed to be dedicated to the ancient king of Athens Thiseus (who fought against the Minotaur), but finally it was found out that it was dedicated to Hephaestus. Thissio is in the heart of the historic center of Athens, with a vivid pedestrian road which connects all the famous monuments of ancient Athens. The nature in the Ancient agora offers an unexpected feeling of calm and serentiy in the heart of the noisy city center. The neighbourhood is plenty of beautiful traditional mensions, in the 19th century "neoclassical' style with remarkable architectural details.
Getting around
The location is ideal for visiting Athens. Most of Athens’ major sights, as the Acropolis, Acropolis museum, the Ancient Agora, the famous Flea market (Monastiraki), the lively “Plaka” and “Gkazi” neighbourhoods of the old city center, as well as ‘Syntagma’ and ‘Omonoia’ squares - the real centre of the modern city - are within walking distance.
The vivid pedestrian road in front of the house has lovely cafes and restaurants with openair tables below large tents and olive trees all year round and makes absolutely safe to go around until late at night.
The metro station “Thissio” is at 5 minute walk from the house and may take you to every region of the city, as well as to the Airport and Piraeus port.

How to get there
The apartment can be reached easily by the Metro line 1, Thissio Station, which is at a distance of 3 min. walk on the pedestrian road in front of the Ancient Agora. Taxi can also reach the building in case you have heavy luggage.
In the interior of the building an impressive old marble-made staircase leads you to the first floor and a narrower 10-step metal staircase leads you to the rooftop studio.
