About the neighbourhood
Villa Satra is located in village Eleftherna. Our village is one of the most well known villages in whole Greece for the historical site and the newly built museum which are a stone-throw away from our villa! Excavations in the area started in late 1920s' by the British expedition, since 1985 up to now the excavations are being carried out under the supervision of the University of Crete, whose target is to reveal the whole area of the ancient site, known only from text evidence. The archaeological site & Museum of Ancient Eleftherna are worth a visit for discovering and feeling the ancient history of the area. Our family will give you all the information that you might need about the area and also inform you for activities that you can do!
