Mosta, Island of Malta
A Maltese farmhouse (now in an urban setting) in Mosta, dating back to at least the seventeenth century with an exquisite courtyard and roof terrace located in a small piazza near to the famous church rotunda. (A new extension bears a carved sign stating that it was built in 1791). The original portion of the house is possibly a century or so older. The building was probably an isolated farmhouse until the community of Mosta grew around it. Sometime afterwards it was converted into a mill and later fell into disuse. When Peter and Isabelle Barratt purchased the building in 1995 it was derelict but was restored with love and care by its new architect-owners. Mosta is a pleasant little community offering many amenities and is linked by a new bus service to the beaches, Sliema and Valletta.

About the neighbourhood
On main road from the Mosta Dome (about 200 metres from Dome) to the town of Naxxar The house is about a fifteen minute drive from the sea and Mdina the beautiful old capital of Malta. Mosta is a pleasant little town with a main shopping street with almost everything one can need. There are many hidden places of interest in Mosta that are covered in a booklet on request. A small well-stoked grocery store is literally 3 minutes away and there are banks, lots of shops and restaurants are close. Parking is on the street nearby.
