The old farmhouse is a jewel of the Faroese culture and is under 'protection of historic monuments'. Built in 1835, it has kept its historical character until today in perfectly good condition. It is located in an area of Kvívík, where the first traditional Faroese houses arose after the settlement by the Vikings. Sheltered from strong winds, sunny all day and with an open view over the village, the waterfall and the sea. Of course covered with a grass roof and attached by stone huts in which fish and lamb was dried.
