Granary cottage is ideally situated for those wishing to stay in the country but with easy access to Scarborough and the Yorkshire coast and moors. The cottage is on a working farm with lovely views and walks from the cottage. Many varieties of birds can be seen both from the cottage and when walking and wild deer etc abound<BR><BR>It is open plan downstairs with comfortable sitting area, free-view TV and DVD player/recorder, central heating. <BR>The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with all items you will require on holiday. The environment was just what we wanted : beautiful countryside, with possibility of starting enchanting walking tours from the very farm. Scarborough is very close and so are the North york moors (that we are very fond of). Beautifully cozy cottage, comfortable with everything you could need. Janet was lovely and very welcoming. We arrived to home made flapjacks which was a thoughtful touch. The cottage is perfectly located to explore the lovely local villages and has easy access to Scarbourgh. There are some great walks from & around the farm. Our dogs enjoyed staying on the farm...

The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. The location provides easy access to the beach the city. Very peaceful surroundings.

East and West Ayton have all the facilities to make your stay enjoyable. There is 1 pub with eating, a filling station with Spar mini supermarket, a fish restaurant and fish and chip shop and a library and 2 churches. Many beautiful and varied walks and mountain bike routes for those enthusiasts.

Railway: Scarborough: 10.0 km
Ferry: Hull: 72.0 km
The farm is accessed off the A170 Pickering to Scarborough road. When approaching from Pickering take the first turning left (after 30 mph sign) into Cockrah Road. Stay on Cockrah Road for about 1.5 miles, you will pass a caravan club site on your right at the end of the village, keep straight on until you reach Spikers Hill Farm only sign. Continue to house with red roof and turn right Spikers Hill Farm is at the top of this lane as you will see. Please do not turn up Yedmandale Road if approaching from Scarborough as many Sat Navs want you to. This is very narrow and lots of cars are usually parked at the side of the road so please use Cockrah Road its much more user friendly!
