Welcome to Haven Cottage, an two bedroom holiday cottage located in the quaint village of Snainton, just a few miles from the popular seaside resort of Scarborough. If you're looking for a holiday or short break in Scarborough or surrounding areas , Haven Cottage may be just what you are looking for.The cottage dates back to the 17th century, and is of stone construction. The kids will love the second bedroom, which contains wooden bunk beds, the fight for the top bunk may be the first thing you have to deal with when you arrive. A new completely refitted bathroom has just been installed in November 2015 to give a luxury bathroom for your comfort. There is a graveled court yard at the front of the property where you can park your car and has a bench set to enjoy some out door living This Snainton cottage is located on the main high street of Snainton, so it is easy to find. Snainton is a pretty village in a conservation area with mainly stone built houses.There is a small local petrol station/shop/post office in the village which is useful to buy the essentials .The village has a couple of antique shops,ladies hairdressers/beauty salon. The local fish & chip shop, which has won national awards, is located a 60 second walk along the road. There is a local Pub in the village and a AA 4 star pub/restaurant,The Coachman Inn about 7 Minutes walk This Scarborough holiday cottage is ideal for a huge range of different holidays. If you're looking for the classic Scarborough experience, you can be at the beach in just 15 minutes (driving).This is an ideal base for walking and cycling in the North Yorkshire Moors.Across the road from the cottage is a quiet country road which is an ideal start for cycling or walking to hundreds of miles of country lanes to the North York Moors and Dalby Forrest The village of Snainton is located midway between Scarborough & Pickering in the Vale of Pickering, one of the most scenic areas in the North of England. The village of Brompton (birthplace of aviation) and Thornton le Dale the picturesque village where you can enjoy an ice cream from renowned ice cream makers Baldersons are a few minutes drive Head into Dalby Forest for a great day out (located about 10 minutes drive away). There are mountain biking trails,Go ape (tree top adventure) walks, picnic areas, and thousands of acres of forest to explore. Pickering is well known for its fantastic market town atmosphere. Take a ride to Whitby on the classic North Yorkshire Moors Railway, or just enjoy this town. One of the UK's leading theme parks, Flamingo Land, is located just a 20 minute drive away. Lovely little cottage. Got used to the road noise mentioned in other reviews. Well placed for visiting York, Robin Hood Bay and Scarborough.

Weekend break. This cottage I found is very nice however I don’t think it’s suitable for dogs as the door opens onto a very busy main road The village is nice and there is a pub straight opposite the cottage but it is only average...More

About the neighbourhood
The village of Snainton is midway between Scarborough and Pickering about miles from Scarborough and 7 miles from Pickering. It is on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and ideal for exploring the Moors and coast. The lane across the road takes you directly to the North Yorks moors and and is a great way to access Dalby Forest. A lot of cyclists use the lane to cycle to the moors as there are hundreds of miles of quiet roads. Scarborough, Filey, Whitby, Pickering Bridlington are in easy reach aswell as the Historic city of York
Getting around
Though the cottage can be reached by public transport the best way to see the area is by car. There is a bus service from Scarborough to Helmsley,128, runs through the village.
