Weirside Cottage is a stunning Isle of Wight holiday cottage in picturesque Brighstone, one of the most popular villages on the Island. This Grade II listed cottage dates back to the early 17th century and is beautifully restored with many character features such as oak beams and fireplaces. The cottage has parking for 2 cars in front of the cottage, a private terrace and a lawned garden reached by a small footbridge over the brook, which runs through the grounds. Brighstone is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a wonderful village shop (with post office) which sells lots of local island produce. There is also a newsagents/grocers and a card/gift shop, pub, 2 churches and a hairdresser. Lovely coastal and downland walks can be started from the doorstep of the cottage. Nearby attractions include The Needles, Tennyson Down, Blackgang Chine adventure park and the harbour town of Yarmouth with its wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants. The beaches of Brighstone Bay, Compton, Freshwater Bay, Totland Bay and Colwell Bay are also within easy reach. You will enter the cottage through the stone porch – great for storing coats and boots. The porch leads into the characterful living space with a cosy sitting room and dining room (with wood burner - fuel provided in winter months). Following through you will find the kitchen which is fitted with grey shaker style units and Corian work surfaces. Beyond the kitchen is a well-appointed bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Note there is one step up and one step down into bathroom. Upstairs are two wonderful light filled bedrooms (one double and one twin) each with good storage for your clothes and belongings. There is a lovely summerhouse by the terrace which provides a nice retreat and your very own laundry room. The cottage has oil-fired central heating and is ideal for holidays and short breaks all year round. Guests are welcomed with a hamper of milk, bread, biscuits, eggs and butter. Coffee, tea and sugar are also provided. Note - due to the proximity of the stream and the internal architecture of this Grade 2 listed cottage, we only accept bookings from families with babies or children over 4 years. Children must be supervised when in the garden, especially near the brook. The cottage is not suitable for pets. Discounted car & foot passenger ferry deals available – please book earlyMore
