Recently refurbished to a very high standard, FRAOCHAN Lodge derives its name from the Gaelic word meaning Bilberry. The lodge itself is of robust, traditional construction yet inside are to be found soft and gentle comforts more commonly associated with a luxury hotel. The lodge has receive many guests over many years and has only recently been refurbished to its present high standard. Its very popular with couples, small families and friends who just need to get away from the noise and speed of the city to enjoy the Great Outdoors in its full splendour.

The lodge is conveniently located just 10 minutes drive from town, and is set amidst a wonderful landscape of hills, lochs and forest. With open outlook to the front and forest backdrop there is a lovely cosy feeling which many remark upon. The lodge is full carpeted and has little to...

Tried to have a shower, scalding hot, couldn't adjust cold water to cool it down. Tried to have a bath and was greeted with about 3 to 4 inches of hot / warm water. Went...

Management response:

We appreciate any feedback received but we wish we had been contacted during your stay. You have painted a very poor picture, but the lodge is not as draughty as you suggest. The window you mentioned, for example, had been closed into the ventilation position. If you had opened the handles this would have become quickly apparent. You had also...

Once we found the lodge it was brillant, easily sleep 4 poeple, decor was a bit out dated but that just gave it the country vibe, some damage from previous poeple all in all very Nice lodge but i would not return unless they reduce energy cost, at 18p per unit its a bit of a rip off as at...

Management response:

We would be delighted to get electricity at 4.5p per unit, but the standard seems to be around 12p per unit at the moment. We hope to move to a new tarrif end of this month. But rest assured, we only charge what it costs. This is a legal requirement. Decor is logs outside, logs inside, so difficult to 'update'....
