A wee note from your hosts:
Pets are NOT ACCEPTED at this lodge. We appreciate this must be disappointing for pet-owners (like ourselves), but many guests suffer from allergies and the pets themselves can be rather rough on carpets and furniture, and can become distressed when left behind in unfamiliar surroundings, so we believe this is best for all.
Your Hosts have 4 more properties in the area. 'Calltainn', identical in almost every way to Fraochan, is nearby, whilst Bramble and Hawthorn Lodges, each sleeping 2, are located off-site by the River Eachaig. A latest addition The Wee Ludging, sleeping 2, is also nearby. More

We appreciate any feedback received but we wish we had been contacted during your stay. You have painted a very poor picture, but the lodge is not as draughty as you suggest. The window you mentioned, for example, had been closed into the ventilation position....More

We would be delighted to get electricity at 4.5p per unit, but the standard seems to be around 12p per unit at the moment. We hope to move to a new tarrif end of this month. But rest assured, we only charge what it costs....More
Amazing big lodge, didn't want to leave. It was perfect. They even had spare blankets for us an had made the place really warm before coming up. Really spacious, comfy double bed. I will definitely be back again!! :)
Many visitors to the area love the rich diversity of hill, shore and forest. The area is famous for the lovely walks available, the forest tracks, waterfalls and gardens. If you are looking for Romance, fresh air, relaxation, in beautiful surroundings you will not be disappointed.
There is also an abundance of bird and wildlife in these parts. Red and Roe Deer, Red Squirrel, Heron, Curlew and Oystercatchers are frequently spotted nearby, whilst the area is also known to be home to the lesser spotted Otter, Pine Marten and Golden Eagle. Visit the wild Holy Loch Nature Reserve nearby.
A car is recommended to get the most from your stay, but there are public transport options too. Dunoon is just 6 miles by bus (regular from Cot House Services) or grab a taxi. There are fine tracks for cycling too, some on and some off road.
