Additional accommodation available at Coopers Cottage (sleeps 6), located at the end of the drive. For a gathering of friends or family, celebrating life, weddings, birthdays or anniversaries, Rathellen is the perfect setting. With training from Ballymaloe, Ireland's premier cooking school, Eamonn and his team can cater for your specific requirements if required. We can prepare dinner/breakfast for you on arrival or fill the fridge with local foods and make suggestions/bookings for local restaurants. Rathellen House is centrally located in Ireland (one mile off the N24 near Bansha, ten miles from the M8 near Cahir). This makes it an ideal base for touring the south of Ireland. The Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle and the Swiss Cottage are all nearby. Its' location at the edge of the Glen of Aherlow makes it an ideal location for walkers. Cork, Kilkenny, Waterford and Limerick are about an hour's drive. Dublin is accessible by motorway (2 to 2 and a half hour drive) or by train from Limerick Junction (10 miles). Rathellen House is a special wedding venue. Celebrate your marriage vows in the company and privacy of your family at Rathellen House. Wedding ceremonies can be solemnised in the Drawing Room. Eamonn and his team will take care of your catering requirements. Each of the six bedrooms (sleeps 12/14) are individually furnished with period style furniture. Some have antique french beds and the Master Bedroom boasts a six foot Four Poster Bed. The rooms have memory foam mattresses. White Egyptian cotton bed linen is used in all the bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have jacuzzi bath tub ensuites and the others have large power shower ensuites. The bathroom mirrors are heated and therefore do not mist over. Two of the ensuites have heated towel rails. The under floor heating ensures that the bathroom floors are nice and warm in colder weather. Relax by the open fire in the spacious drawing room. Furnished with period furniture, a white marble fireplace and a large Waterford Crystal chandelier, the drawing room is the perfect place for family and friends to gather at the end of the day. The library room is well stocked with books for everyone's taste. It is a quiet, peaceful room and provides an intimate setting to read, write or play the piano. The dining room has a solid oak floor, a Kilkenny Marble fireplace, a Waterford Crystal chandelier and antique furniture. The kitchen is a commercial kitchen and is well-appointed with everything a professional guest would need. Self catering guests can cook for themselves or alternatively Eamonn, a Ballymaloe trained chef enjoys cooking for guests (by request). Eamonn uses locally grown, organic ingredients where possible. Rathellen House is set on four acres of grounds. There is ample car parking available. It is one mile from the N24 and ten minutes from the M8. This means that it is easily accessible yet enjoys rural tranquility also. Please see our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/RathellenMore
