The farm road has been recently resurfaced The Granary provides an ideal centre for walking or cycling holidays. For the walkers there is easy access to the Black Mountains, the Brecon Beacons, the Radnorshire Hills and Offas Dyke Path and for the cyclists there are an increasing number of cycle routes particularly in the Brecon Beacons National Park where there are cycle routes for all ages and abilities. For nature lovers, from the Granary windows there is an uninterrupted view of the lower fields of the farm with the chance of seeing badgers, foxes and other wild animals and birds in a totally natural environment. For those visitors who are interested in history the old county of Radnorshire, now part of Powys, is part of the Welsh Marches, the historic border between England and Wales. There are many castles in the area, the nearest in Painscastle and more information can be obtained from the 'Castles of Wales' web site. There are also historic cathedrals at Brecon and Hereford the latter the home to the Chain Library and the Mappa Mundi. The Granary is fully booked for the Hay Festival but B&B is available in the main house.More

About the neighbourhood
Although the Granary is located in a very rural location with isolated communities and narrow lanes it is only 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye famous as the 'Town of Books' and which is home to the world renowned literary festival held at the end of May each year. There are a growing number of shops selling antiques and collectables and these complement the book shops. For the more active canoes can be hired from a number of locations in and around Hay. Riding on the hills can be arranged and bicycle hire is available in Hay. There is an excellent traditional 'pub', the Roast Ox, that serves first class food just 1 mile from the Granary
