Brockleback cottage was ideal for book shopping/browsing and the many beautiful walks in the region. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was excellent, with comfortable furniture, a very nice ambience and a perfect position to the town. The parking can be a slight problem if you intend using your car during the stay, as a parking slot is at a premium, so it could...More

The centrally heated cottage has two double bedrooms one containing a zip lock bed, so it can be used as either double or twin room, and the other a double bed. The living room has a comfortable sofa and two arm chairs, log burner, colour TV, DVD player and IPOD compatible music system, there are also a range of board games available. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with fridge, oven and hob. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

About the neighbourhood
Standing alongside the glorious river Wye and nestling beneath the Black Mountains, Hay-on-Wye retains all the charm of a late Georgian, early Victorian market town. The town is now famous for being the 'Second Hand Book Capital of the World' and is full of bookstores and hosts the internationally recognised literature festival that attracts well over half a million visitors each year. Hay's association with books started when Richard Booth, an Oxford graduate, opened his first bookshop in 1961 and pursued his dream thata town full of bookshops could be an international attraction.
