The stylish and cosy sitting room has a TV, DVD and Freesat. There is a wood burner for those cosy nights in and a basket of wood and scuttle of coal is provided during the colder months. There is also a modern kitchen and dining area. Upstairs is a surprisingly spacious bedroom with a luxurious king size bed and a shower room. PLEASE NOTE: the stairs to the first floor are steep, narrow and uneven. If you have limited mobility or are unsteady please ensure you are happy with the description before you book. If you require any further information please enquire further. Outside the back door is a small partially covered courtyard where walking boots and wet weather gear can be stored. This area gains access via steep narrow steps on a shared pathway leading to a small garden with seating and BBQ. Again please note the narrow steep steps description to the garden! Ideally located within the beautiful market town of Hay. Visit the Thursday morning market and sample the local produce. Stroll around the old town and visit one of the many coffee shops. A perfect base for walking, biking and canoeing on the pretty River Wye. The cottage is yours to relax in and enjoy your break. A garden at the rear belongs to the cottage so you will have exclusive access, however it is accessed via a communal path. There is information at the cottage of local interesting places for you to visit. There is no wi-fi at the cottage but they do have it in the hotel across the road. Also mobile access and 3G is good. All bedding and towels are provided. There is no parking at the cottage but there is free parking within 150 meters. It is possible to stop outside the cottage to unload. ALSO NOTE: the cottage is situated within the market town of Hay on Wye, this means there will be traffic noise.More

About the neighbourhood
The beautiful and peaceful Brecon Beacons are at your doorstep! These offer many and varied activities including, but not limited to; walking, climbing, horse riding, mountain biking, quad biking, river/gorge walking canoeing and fishing! There are canoe hire companies and cycle hire close to Ty Bychan and a plethora of walking options from local river walks to walks on the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
How to get there
A car is very useful as public transport is limiting. Other possibilities are a train to Hereford or Abergavenny and taxi and or bus to Hay on Wye. Once in Hay the cottage it in the town centre and so has access to all amenities.
