It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales. Town: During the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens. There is walking close by with peaks to the north and hills and dales to the south as well as a number of towns dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.

Absolutely beautiful
Stayed here for a week in February and cannot rate the place enough. The house had absolutely everything needed, including the rooftop views from the top floor skylight (which was an amazing viewpoint for the starry night sky over Buxton and beyond) Everything was in close proximity and the host was only a call away, when I didn't know how the keysafe worked (what a bimbo I am, but never used one before) 🤔😂 We had a lovely reunion with family at the Thai restaurant 'Khomkai' and had family stay with us at the house with no overcrowding issues. I would wholly recommend this house and will definately book the house as our go to on our return to Derbyshire
