When you arrive, don’t be alarmed if you replace your car with a pull along vintage apple cart to take your luggage to Farmer Oak’s Hut. You will walk past our chickens and young apple orchard and a small wild flower meadow into your garden. As soon as you open the gate you will realise that you have arrived in a special place. With only cows for neighbours, you will feel as though you have arrived in a space far from the madding crowd, connecting back with nature but at the same time having all the facilities of a luxury glamping accommodation.

I will greet you as you arrive at Drowsy Duck Barn where I will take you to Farmer Oak's Hut and explain everything you may need to know about the functioning of the hut and to answer any questions you may have.Although I am on hand should you need anything I am very respectful of your need for privacy and so I try and be as unintrusive as possible.

We had a lovely weekend away in this cosy hut, very quiet and green surroundings perfect for a trip away from the city. Highly recommended. Cant wait to be back!

Amazing location with an easy access to all Devon attractions and walks. A perfect place for a short break from the city for either couple or singles! I love the little garden and a bench to sit outside and listening to birds. Highly recommending and...More

We booked to stay here in October and it was perfect, was rather cold outside but the little log burner inside made us right at home and cosy. The hut itself is beautiful, full of character in a beautiful surrounding. Lots of lovely walks to...More

The area is rural surrounded by beautiful rolling hills,farms,woods and lovely country walks.From our grounds you are able to join the public footpaths which will take you on some very pretty walks and into the woods.
You will find Lifton village 2 miles away which has a general store and two good restaurants.40 minutes away will take you to the north Cornwall coast where you can enjoy breathtaking views along the rugged coastline from Bude,Boscastle and Tintagel.Dartmoor is just a short drive away and whether you visit in the summer or in the winter snow-Dartmoor is always a magical place.There are also the colourful ancient market towns of Tavistock,Launceston and Okehampton to enjoy shopping and visiting the museums and castles.

Off the A30 heading west at Sourton head right for Lifton.You are now on the West Devon Drive(the original A30)After approx 7 miles turn left after Portgate at a gold coloured house and continue for 2 miles down this country road.Take the left turn at the sign for Dippertown.Drive through the hamlet until you come to a farm gate with Drowsy Duck written on it.The gate is slighly set back from the road on the right in between a cream farmhouse and an old barn.Drive in and park straight ahead of you.You do need a car to travel around this area as it is rural.
