Luxury one bedroom self catering situated on the ground floor of Coogrind. Most visitors are found to speechless when they first arrive and see the view. Situated on the west side of Shetland in a quiet area of Hamnavoe on Burra Isle. Burra Isle is joined to the Shetland mainland by bridge. 10 miles to the most northern town of Lerwick therefore a car is essiential. A short walk to Meal Beach which is one of the most popular beaches in Shetland. Visitors have many reasons to visit Shetland and Coogrind Self Catering is in a central position to assist. Although we are a one bedroomed apartment we can cater for couples with a luxury superking sized bed or friends with twin beds. Although we have stated that it is not suitable for children we have a cot and high chair if you have a toddler.

Excellent stay!
We had an absolutely wonderful week at Coogrind! The unit was perfect for us, the views were spectacular, and Carol was the perfect host. It's a great base from which to explore the Shetland Islands. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wishing to have a great place relax and get ready for the next day.

Lovely apartment in perfect location with stunning views from the deck
What a wonderful place to stay .. the apartment is a home-from-home; comfy cosy and really well-equipped. Sitting outside on the deck was my favourite thing; listening to the waves crashing against the rocks and watching the colours of the landscape continually changing with the weather, Shetland is somewhere you really can experience four seasons in one day. Wrapped up in a blanket outside one night watching the Northern Lights (the Meerie Dancers) til the early hours was really special .. I'll be going back for sure.

Coogrind is perfect, Shetland is brilliant
Coogrind is just a short easy journey from leaving the ferry to arrive in the picturesque village of Hamnavoe. The apartment is light, airy , very spacious and very clean & comfortable. It is well equipped , with a huge shower room and a bed so comfortable you’ll have no trouble drifting off. Parking is to the door. Carole & Gary are welcoming with a font of local information they are willing to share. We ate at No 88 and Fjara which both served excellent meals. I can also recommend the fish & chips from the Fort chip shop the fish was huge, and the decking outside the apartment is the perfect place to enjoy it. There is so much to see all the while just enjoying the fabulous views whilst driving about. We visited a home zoo run on donations where we saw a bird we were not expecting to see in Shetland and no it wasn’t a puffin we saw lots of them at Sumburgh Lighthouse. The beaches in Shetland are amazing but in my humble opinion the best one is Meall Beach which happens to be just a short walk from the apartment. The shell house is a photo op for everyone, I think Shetland has something for everyone except maybe clubbers! We were even able to feed some wild seals in the local marina! Feeling adventurous there’s Smugglers Cave but wear decent footwear & take a torch! We didn’t manage to spot the Orcas this time but we will be back !! I think we left a little bit of our hearts. Thank you Coogrind!!

Fantastic holiday accommodation
Stunning scenery, fantastic holiday house,well located in Shetland. House had everything we needed, comfortable king sized bed. Hosts very friendly. Lots of information about Island in folder. Will certainly be recommending.

A lovely home from home
A warm and comfortable flat with everything you could need. Carole couldn't have been more helpful.The weather was interesting while we stayed from sun to snow and horizontal hailstones but there is a wonderful view to see the elements.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED COOGRIND SELF CATERING
I and my partner stayed at Coogrind for 2 weeks in early October 18 and found this place to be absolutely perfect and centrally located to reach all destinations easily around Shetland. The accommodation was very homely, warm and had plenty of hot water. The bed was extremely comfortable, the best we have ever slept in on holiday and the apartment had all the necessary equipment and accessories to make this a truly amazing place. The scenery from all the windows is fantastic and near a beautiful beach within walking distance. Carol, the owner is very friendly and helpful and nearby if you require any guidance about Shetland. Thank you Carol for a super, memorable holiday. See you again Vickie & Ryan

Superb apartment in an amazing location
We stayed for 12 nights and found the apartment had everything we needed. You’re underneath Carole’s home but this never caused an issue in fact it was reassuring that if there was an issue someone was nearby (but we had no problems). The living space and kitchen are well equipped and the wet room was spacious. The bedroom has a TV which was great for lazy mornings in the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. Laying in bed and being able to see the sea is wonderful. 2 minutes through the field infront of Coogrind is a great pebble beach with lovely rock pools to explore at low tide - just round the corner is Meal Beach - sandy and one of Shetland’s best. Being able to grab the camera and just nip to the sea was my favourite thing. Lovely to watch the nest of blackbirds fledge right in front of us too. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again and recommend to friends. Hopefully we’ll be back again. Thank you Carole.

Comfortable stay in fabulous location
Coogrind is a very comfortable self-catering apartment based in Hamnavoe which is a short drive from Lerwick. The view from the front is sensational: sea, hills and sky. Five minutes stroll away is a lovely beach and bay where we watched arctic terns feeding and three inquisitive seals came to have a look at us. We had everything we needed, including a walk in shower and free wi-if. The owner, Carole, was helpful and friendly. In our week we visited many sites, including the Hernaness nature reserve to see the famous Muckle Flugga on the Isle of Unst. If you're into birds, try Sumburgh Head - puffins, fulmars, guillemots and razorbills in large numbers.
