6 of us (3 couples) spent a lovely week at Lochan Lodge as a base for our golfing in/around Speyside.
The lodge was absolutely perfect for all our needs and served as a great base for us to stay.
It had everything you could wish for and Steph &Bill were very nice/attentive and friendly.
Weather was great too which was an added bonus and if we return to the area we would no have hesitation in booking the lodge again.

Beautiful location with fantastic hosts
This was our first time staying at Lochan Lodge, it wont be our last. Bill and Steph could not have been more helpful actively encouraging us to enjoy their land. Our 5 Year old didnt want to go home and loved the time Steph spent showing her the Guinea Fowl Chicks as well as feeding some of the Sheep. The house is perfect for a visit with extended Family as the bedrooms are grouped around a large Central Sitting area with great picture windows and a seperate growns ups Lounge just right for drinking whisky and listening to music. My Older Children loved trekking through the woods and were really pleased to be able to see the Ospreys who were nesting in some of the trees. Even the WiFi was really good. Could not recomend highly enough

Amazing place, with outstanding views
A home away from home. One of the few places we've been where you genuinely don't want to leave. A wonderful location to explore the area and watch wildlife. Steph, Bill and Alex are fantastic hosts. We saw a stoat in its winter coat while we were there for our latest visit. This was our second visit and will most certainly not be our last.

Wonderful Home from Home in Beautiful Surroundings.
This is our second visit to Lochan Lodge. Steph and Bill are friendly and highly attentive hosts who provide real home from home holiday accommodation with every comfort and convenience along with spectacular views in a beautiful part of the world. The bonus Welcome Basket is a real treat and Steph’s homemade bread the best ever. Cannot recommend this lovely place enough.

Absolutely perfect place!
Lodge: The lodge is a very spacious 4-bedroom home with comfortable beds, all the required furniture, plenty of storage, two very well equipped kitchens (including bean to cup coffee machine), two large living/sitting rooms, log burner, high end music system, xbox, Sky TV, high speed internet and everything else you may need.
Location: Set within the vast Balnafettach estate, the lodge offers roaming Scottish cows, sheep, pheasant, guinea fowl, rabbits, roe deer as soon as you drive in. The kids loved watching all the wildlife from the main living room windows. The property is set away from the A95 and therefore very quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of walks around the lodge and surrounding fields. Aviemore is 35mins drive away and Grantown is 10mins drive which has a well equipped Co-op, butcher, several takeaways, cafes, etc.
Hosts: Steph was very helpful and attentive with any requests and issues. The welcome basket included her own grown grapes, baked bread, milk and jam (all delicious).
Ideal place for adults and children. We hope to return again.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting.
A lovely well kept house in a beautiful setting. A quiet peaceful setting with no traffic noise and yet only just of the A95. Bill and Steph, the property owners were so friendly and welcoming and living close by were alway on hand if required.
If you like wildlife, you’ll love this place, Curlews and Oystercatchers nesting all around and feeding on the lawn. Hares regularly visiting the lawn in front of the window and Ospreys visiting daily catching fish on the lochan. The wildlife entertained us so much we didn’t have the television on all week.
I highly recommend a holiday here and if you have children, they will love it too, our grandchildren (7 years & 4 years) certainly did.
