Interaction with guests
We live next door and work from home so are around if you need us. We don't make a habit of knocking on the door so if you want your privacy that is not a problem, we often don't see guests between check-in and checkout but it's good to know there is someone on hand should you need us.

I booked The Snug for a week's walking in this lovely area. It is conveniently located in the middle of Grantown. The accommodation is very good and suitable for one or two people, with a spacious bedroom-cum-living room (including a huge bed) and good-sized kitchen...More

About the neighbourhood
Grantown on Spey is in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, we love our natural beauty with the Spey river running close by, perfect for fishers among you. Or easy access to great walking trails for beginners to experienced hill walkers and mountaineering types. If golf is your thing then there are so many to choose from there may not be enough days in your holiday to play each of them. If you are looking for a more relaxed time then we also have the beautiful Anagach Woods just a 5 minute walk from our front door, from a short 1 mile trail right up to a days walking there really is something for everyone.
Getting around
Thanks to Beeching there is no rail link to Grantown on Spey. Nearest station is Aviemore and there is a bus that comes through to Grantown fairly regularly. There is also a hire car option next to the station. The nearest airport is Inverness and it is a 40 minute drive from The Snug, again there are hire car options at the airport. Whilst not impossible to survive without a car here we don't recommend it as there is so much to explore around and about.
Access
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Inverness: 51.0 km
Railway: Aviemore: 26.0 km
We really do recommend you have a car when staying with us as whilst there is a bus route to and from Aviemore it is not as frequent as we would like, similarly getting from Inverness airport to Grantown on Spey on public transport will probably take you longer by public transport that it did to get from your home!
Activities nearby
Fishing Nearby, There Is A Golf Course Within 30 Mins Drive, Golf Course Is On Site Or Within 15 Mins Walk, There Are Tennis Courts Nearby, Watersports Nearby, Nearest Beach: 44.0 km.
