The Snug in Grantown is a first floor studio apartment. One large room comprises the sleeping and seating areas (separate) and there is a separate kitchen and a hallway with lots of storage through to a large shower room. The bed is a large superking zip link bed that can be also split into two singles. Grantown on Spey is in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and The Snug is right on the High Street with dedicated parking at the back of the building. Our bustling High Street boasts lovely unique shops and a variety of cafes and restaurants - if you want to cook in the fully fitted kitchen there is also a Co-Op round the corner so there is no need to pack as if you are heading into the wilderness. All bedding, towels and cloths and tea towels are provided and can be changed in the middle of a 7 night stay (charge applies). We do recommend that you have a car when staying in Grantown on Spey, whilst there is a bus link to Inverness and Aviemore it is few and far between and with several golf courses, the whisky trail, the Speyside Way, and the Moray Firth coast all within an hours drive you'll be needing a car to get around. Unfortunately we are unable to take pets or babies and children under the age of 13 and please note that The Snug is up 2 flights of stairs so is not suitable for people who find stairs a challenge.More

Interaction with guests
We live next door and work from home so are around if you need us. We don't make a habit of knocking on the door so if you want your privacy that is not a problem, we often don't see guests between check-in and checkout but it's good to know there is someone on hand should you need us.

About the neighbourhood
Grantown on Spey is in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, we love our natural beauty with the Spey river running close by, perfect for fishers among you. Or easy access to great walking trails for beginners to experienced hill walkers and mountaineering types. If golf is your thing then there are so many to choose from there may not be enough days in your holiday to play each of them. If you are looking for a more relaxed time then we also have the beautiful Anagach Woods just a 5 minute walk from our front door, from a short 1 mile trail right up to a days walking there really is something for everyone.
Getting around
Thanks to Beeching there is no rail link to Grantown on Spey. Nearest station is Aviemore and there is a bus that comes through to Grantown fairly regularly. There is also a hire car option next to the station. The nearest airport is Inverness and it is a 40 minute drive from The Snug, again there are hire car options at the airport. Whilst not impossible to survive without a car here we don't recommend it as there is so much to explore around and about.
