About the neighbourhood
The Coach House is situated in a quiet hamlet surrounded by fields, forests and wildlife. Access to the country side is directly from the doorstep. Entrance to the grounds of the Hampsfell House Hotel is within 10 metres of the front door. They typically do splendid meals and have a cosy bar with open fire. Breakfasts can be taken here at a reduced cost. Grange has a mixture of shops including four charity shops. The Prom is splendid for a stroll along to the Cafe and sporting facilities, including bowls, tennis, crazy golf, basketball and a skate park. Two golf courses are also available. A brewery in Cartmel serves some really excellent real ales, some of the best in the world. Excellent ice cream can be had close to the Brewery
Getting around
A car is the usual mode of transport. It is typically easy to get in and out of Grange with good links to tourist sites and the M6. Grange is well placed for access to all parts of the Lake District.

Buses to Keswick can be taken from Kendal using service 555. There are bus stops along the route into the heart of the Lake District.

Trains run direct to Manchester Airport and right up the west coast of the Lake District. At Ravenglass Station a small Steam Train can be taken down Eskdale for access to Wasdale, Ska Fell and a Roman Fort.
