Fowey, Cornwall, England
Bodinnick lies on the east bank of the Fowey river about half a mile up river from the harbour entrance. The village is connected to Fowey by a regular passenger/car ferry which runs throughout the year except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. This delightful riverside community has a small hotel/public house, The Old Ferry Inn, providing good food and friendly service in traditional old world surroundings. The village also has one of the smallest churches in the county, St. Johns which was converted from a stable to a church in the 1950s. The village is also the starting/finishing point for the famous Hall Walk, a spectacular footpath which winds its way through superb countryside following the course of one of the tidal tributaries of the river Fowey. Passing through the hamlet of Pont, at the head of the navigable part of the tributary, th... Read more

Couldn't fault the cottage, everything we needed was there in a quirky and characterful building with gorgeous gardens overlooking the estuary. Brilliant to be able to see the ferry coming and going at such close proximity. Fab views, lovely walks, crossing over by ferry to Fowey couldn't have been easier, and we hardly used the car all week. Would recommend...

Management response:

Thank you for your kind comments. Delighted you enjoyed your stay at Rose Cottage and particularly pleased that you liked the garden and the terrace. By the sound of it you obviously made the most of the ferry. Do hope that you will want to return. Best wishes.

We returned to Rose Cottage for our second visit. From the moment we entered we felt completely relaxed and 'at home'. Our little dogs remembered the garden and they settled immediately, always a good sign for us. The cottage was just as we remembered it and was just as comfortable. We never tired of the views, even when it rained....

Management response:

So glad that you had such a relaxing time and that you found the cottage comfortable. The beach at Par is certainly a fantastic beach for dogs and the level access from the car park makes it even more appealing. Fowey has some great, individual, shops and we think, but then we are a little biased, is the best small...

Louise & Chris have a done a brilliant job of making this holiday cottage somewhere to relax...

Management response:

Thank you so very much for your lovely comments, we are so glad that you enjoyed staying at Rose Cottage. Just as a matter of interest, the Ferry runs later in the summer months and at the height of the season a passenger ferry runs, some evenings, until about 10.30/11.00 ish. We would be absolutely delighted to see you again....
