Holiday Rental House -
4 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 8
Fowey, Cornwall, England
Ferrymans Cottage - formerly part of the infamous Sailor's Return Inn - is just 4 minutes walk along the Riverside from the centre of the bustling up-beat town. Not only with water views but two decks actually above the water, perched above the old slipway. There, great fun for kids (and adults!) to crab and fish, Over the river, a magnificent view of Ferryside, Daphne du Maurier's first house in Fowey; The Boddinick ferry plies to and from nearby Caffa Mill, there a car park where a weekly parking ticket can be bought..
Being also a family house for the owners, we find guests surprised at the extent of facilities, crockery; 'you name it! It's a family house. At entrance level, a Study, Shower room with WC and Lounge with TV and log effect fire opens to a deck. Down the stairs, leads to the Kitchen with (tall cooks bew...

About the neighbourhood
Fowey

Near the waterfront, antique shops, restaurants, chandlers and historic pubs jostle for space. There are architectural gems in the tiny streets that twist and tumble down the hillside towards the estuary: St Fimbarrus Church, founded in the 6th century, and Place, after 660 years still the seat of the Treffry family. But it is in Fowey's extended family - the community of little towns and villages linked to it by the river - that is fascination lies. These include Lostwithiel and nearby Restormel Castle, Lerryn, Golant, Bodinnick, Pont at the head of its wooded 'pill' and Polruan.

How to get there
Now, just where are you starting from? If you're a 'foreigner '(not a true Cornishman) aim for Bodmin which is 6 miles to the North.
Once near, from the Bodmin direction follow the signs to the inner town, which takes you through the main streets on a one way (counterclockwise) system. Almost leaving the town,the old slipway opens up on the right. Pull in and take stock;
Ferrymans is some 50 metres ahead on the right. With red door and even Cornish cream wall decor (!). Temporary stopping for loading and loading, pick-ups can be at the old slipway or, mounting the pavement with care, immediately outside FerrymansCottage
After, parking is a further 100 metres further ahead on the right.
