We love it so much we built our own house here, adding our holiday cottage in 2014. Quiet and peaceful, with breathtaking scenery on your doorstep, we are sure you will love it just as much as we do. The cottage is beautifully appointed, with oak furniture and fittings, and equipped with everything you will need on your self catering holiday. Upstairs is the open plan oak kitchen with granite worktops, duel fuel cooker, microwave oven, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and a range of pots and pans . The oak table easily seats 4 plus a highchair, perfect for dining with family and friends. The spacious, comfortable seating area has 2 settees and lounge chairs, with a large TV, DVD's, CD player with iPod docking, free Wi-Fi, and a selection of books and games, ideal for your cosy nights in. With views over the fields, you might prefer to just sit quietly and read, or watch over our resident sheep, pigs and chickens. You may also be lucky enough to see deer and red squirrel. A second bathroom (WC) also features upstairs. Downstairs you will find 2 bedrooms (one double with king size bed, one twin), with luxurious wool tartan carpets, and good quality bedding designed for comfort and a good nights sleep. Each bedroom has built in wardrobes with plenty of storage and the double room can easily accommodate a travel cot. The family bathroom features underfloor heating, double-ended bath and walk-in shower and the large, Egyptian cotton towels add to the bathing experience. Outside there is plenty of space for children ( and adults) to run around, play ball games, or use the double swing set all within a secure area. On sunny days, why not dine alfresco on the outside decking area? Callander is an all year round tourist resort, easily accessible from the motorway, and the perfect place for golfing, hiking, hillwalking, pony trekking, photography, cycling and fishing. There are plenty of nearby lochs, riding school, hills, designated cycle paths, cycle hire and Callander Golf club just up the road. We are 30 minutes drive from Gleneagles golf course. For gentler activities, take a stroll up the Crags, where you can enjoy the stunning views over Callander and beyond, up to Bracklinn Falls or around Callander Meadows, where you can feed the ducks and swans and enjoy the play area. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, as part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Parks, there are numerous scenic drives to enjoy. Known as 'Gateway to Highlands' it is also an ideal base for exploring Scotland and only an hours drive away from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Perth.
