This was a perfect little base for exploring Weymouth and the surrounding area. The Cottage is a little quirky as you would expect with a building of its age but beautifully presented. Brilliant to have a parking space this close to the centre of town.

Lovely cottage, bang in the middle of Weymouth with parking. A couple of little issues with freezer and short of a couple of pans but that’s all. Stairs are very steep but that’s noted 😊

About the neighbourhood
Duckling Cottage really is the ideal location to go out and see all that the resort has to offer. If exploring the historical places of interest within the resort and the surrounding county of Dorset is something you wish to do, then again the cottage is in the perfect location to be the base for any adventure you may plan .The cottage itself is said to be within the area where a certain King George visited his mistress through secret tunnels. Turton street was named after the royals head physician 'John Turton' who was given the property at the entrance to the street to tend to the late King George bouts of madnessThe famous Nothe Fort at the entrance to the Harbour is a must for all young and old , The Sealife Centre, Monkey World and the Tank Museum also score high on the must do list.
How to get there
With the central location, getting to the cottage could not be easier. Both the bus and train stations are less than a 5 minute walk. Directions by car will be emailed to assist in finding the accommodation. Weymouth can be reached by either from the north/west using the M5 or east M3/M27 links to the north. Weymouth has its own ferry port to the channel islands and the main ports of Poole and Southampton only a short journey along the coast
