Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

The perfect place for a family of all ages to enjoy a get together and celabrate.
We went with our full family of 14 people, aged between 3 and 83 years old. It catered for all our different needs and requirements. The highlight being able to all sit around one table for our meals. The amenaties are first rate including heated indoor pool with Spa, Games Room and Playpark for all to enjoy. Very close to The Tarka Trail for cyclists or enthusiastic walkers and within easy reach of some some fantastic beaches for surfing, rock pooling and sand dunes. We particularly enjoyed on two nights being able to look through skylights at the magical night sky with virtually no light pollution ( what a bonus ). The owners were at hand to assist with anything at anytime. We are already planning our next visit. David and Enid Bailey

Everything you need from age 3-83!
Just back from our second stay at Combrew. This time 14 of us stayed for a 50th wedding anniversary party for a week. Once again we had the most wonderful, relaxing stay, and the cottages and facilities had everything that we needed. Close by you can cycle on the Tarka Trail, visit Croyde for rock pooling and body boarding and dune jumping, or visit the Big Sheep or a National Trust property. On site we used the hydropool, badminton court, park area, games room and trampolines. We’re an active family with children who love being outside, and then all cooking and eating together in the evenings. We were able to meet all of these needs in the Round house and Tuckers retreat. Being able to store our bikes and do a little laundry is also really helpful when the children are adventuring so much. Once again Combrew ticks all the boxes for people aged 3-83! Thank you.

Absolute Dream
Have just returned from a fabulous week at Combrew Farm. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The amenities and facilities were fantastic. Sue and her team were the perfect hosts and so friendly. Location was perfect for exploring North Devon. We were all sad to leave and will definitely be returning. I would definitely recommend it for anyone of any age.

Fabulous place to stay.
Three generations of my family stayed at Combrew and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in Courtyard and Barn Owl and both cottages were clean, well equipped and a joy to stay in. The whole family, from 1 year old grandchild up to the grandparents enjoyed the pool and all the facilities such as badminton and tennis. Sue and her team were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us - thank you for a wonderful holiday. We came home and booked again for next year!

Luxury Stay
Three generations of our family stayed in the Roundhouse on Combrew Farm. It was our first trip to Devon and certainly won’t be our last! The cottage is simply beautiful. The property has everything we need to relax and rest comfortably. Our favourite room in the house was the huge family kitchen and dining room that had space to accommodate us all for family breakfasts lunches and dinners. The cottage is situated on a farm and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The on-site facilities (pool, games room and tennis courts) were a huge hit with my grandsons. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring North Devon. We enjoyed trips to Fremington Quay (just across from the cottage), The Big Sheep, Combe Martin Dinosaur Park, Cobatton Combat Collection, Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands Beaches all within easy reach. We had a wonderful time, Sue and John made us very welcome and ensured our stay was just perfect.

Amazing in all ways.
Well where do I start. This place is an absolute gem. Over the years we have stayed in numerous holiday homes, both in the UK and abroad. This is a top for us as it is excellent in every way. From the booking to the departure everything has been perfect. John and Sue are a complete dream to work with, answering every query in timely and friendly manner and always so accommodating. The house was absolutely spotless, every single nook and cranny. The facilities ok the complex are amazing. The pool the park area, the games room are all amazing and again immaculate. We were a family of 8, 4 adults and 4 children and the house was more than big enough and was equipped with everything. We loves our week there and will certainly be returning. In fact while we were there I was sharing on social media with friends ms family what a great place it is and they have already booked to go. What more can we say but “Thank you “ John and Sue for a lovely week.

Family re'Treat'
Lovely, peaceful and enjoyable retreat for the whole family to enjoy. Warm swimming pool and sauna on site, as is a play area with trampolines and a small park area. Bike hire available and the beaches are a 10 minute bus ride away. Local shops walking distance.  We were extremely well looked after by Sue and John who are Lovely, and have pride in their Cottages, which are clean and inviting. The log fire is a nice touch. Waking up to chirping birds is amazing!! Will definitely come back, thanks Sue and John

Medley holiday 2020
Had a fantastic time. The Roundhouse was absolutely stunning, well maintained and extremely clean and tidy. Sue and John had thought of everything. All the extra safety precautions due to Covid-19 made you feel safe. The pool was on a booking system so it is just your party at any one time. Would highly recommend staying here.

About the neighbourhood
Barnstaple is the commercial centre of the region, combining sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and speciality shops. The modern Green Lanes Shopping Centre compliments the traditional Pannier and Craft Markets held since 1855 in the Pannier Market Hall. This attractive market town is the oldest and largest town in North Devon, nestling in the Taw valley on the other side of the estuary which the Saxons first settled in Barnstaple (Barum) over 1000 years ago. The Long Bridge, crossing the tidal River Taw was thought to have been built in the 12th and 13th centuries and in Litchdon Street are located the Penrose Almshouses built in the early 17th century.
