About the neighbourhood
Rose Cottage is within walking distance of a medium sized Sainsbury's supermarket, a pub with food, and a couple of takeaways. It is about a 15 minute walk to Durham City Centre, but if you like you can also take a bus from the stop near the cottage. The buses are regular and frequent.
Getting around
A car is not needed at Rose Cottage, it is within walking distance of the city centre and the Cathedral world heritage site. The bus service is good in the area and it is easy to access most attractions on public transport. Durham is on the East Coast main line and so there are regular trains to Newcastle, Darlington and York and London. The road network is good and so all of Durham County is easily accessible by car.
