Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect break
As regular visitors to the isle of wight we have experienced many types of accommodation in different places but this is one we will definitely return to. The whole process from booking the accommodation to returning the keys was made extremely easy by the owner. My husband and I were so pleased with the apartment and its location. Waking up to such beautiful views in a great location made our break away perfect. The apartment itself was amazing, everything we needed and more. The cleaniness was outstanding and we can honestly say it was the most peaceful place to really chill out. We will be re booking and would certainly recommend it.

An ideal holiday base
A comfortable modern apartment, very light and bright with everything we needed and plenty of storage space. The dishwasher and WiFi were much appreciated. We enjoyed sitting out on the very large balcony overlooking the sea. We would certainly re-book if we return to the Isle of Wight.

What a view
A really good location with an apartment that had all you required for a relaxing or energetic break.
The view from the decking area was perfect, a well kept garden and trees plus a sea view looking across the bay towards Shanklin, Sandown and the cliffs beyond.
Would recommend this property.

Perfect from start to finish!!!
Booked this apartment through Holiday Lettings and the first thing I noticed was how caring and informative the owner was to ensure that you knew everything about the Island and the apartment. We had a tiny query whilst on holiday and he was immediately contactable and did everything he could to ensure our problem was rectified immediately. The apartment has everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday. We did a tour of the Island and had the best fortnight ever! The views from the decking are amazing and due to the fabulous weather we had breakfast and dinner out on the decking most days. A top quality apartment in a lovely quiet area of Shanklin.

Lovely, Well Equipped Apartment
Had a fantastic week here. The apartment is comfortable, well equipped and has terrific views from the large decking area. It's a bit of a walk back up from the town but no problem if you are reasonably fit (we are both mid 50s and managed fine).

Beautiful.
This is a beautiful flat — stylish, modern and very well-equipped. We had good wi-fi and phone signals.
The view alone is worth the visit!
We stayed here during a mini-heatwave in July 2015. As the flat is half-way up a hill, and as all the windows face the sea, we were able to keep ourselves quite pleasantly cool whilst everyone else sweltered.
Luccombe is quite close to Shanklin, where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants. In fact, everywhere on the Isle of Wight is within easy reach if you have a car.

About the neighbourhood
The coastal resort of Shanklin is located at the south east corner of the Island at the southern most tip of Sandown Bay. The town is well served by the railway, which connects to the high speed ferry terminal at the top of Ryde Pier, allowing easy access to the mainland and London. There are also regular bus services to the Islands principal towns.

Shanklin has long been a location for family holidays, with a safe sandy beach and clear waters. The bay is sheltered from the prevailing wind by Dunnose Point, which is a stunning backdrop, with the tall cliffs of Luccombe and St. Boniface Downs beyond. Looking out to The English Channel across The Bay, views extend around to the white cliffs of Culver and Bembridge Downs. By the beach there is crazy golf, children's amusements and car parking. A lift provides easy access to the cliff tops, where the views are even more spectacular, so the less energetic or disabled people don't have to climb the steps. The seafront is a real attraction for visitors to the town, with a wealth of eating establishments. There is a bus service which provides a regular service through the summer months to the town centre and Old Village.

Shanklin is most famed for its good weather and the pretty Old Village, which is located on the south side of the town, towards Ventnor and Bonchurch. The village is extremely pretty and most tourists head to the area for the thatched cottages, quaint shops and old fashioned tea rooms, which not only offer cream teas, but sea food specialities and attractive surroundings. In the heart of The Old Village are several pubs which are attractive and provide good food and a great venue for a lively evening. Just past the entrance to The Crab Inn is the start of Shanklin Chine, a deep gorge carved out by a stream, which is a restful and picturesque place to spend the morning or afternoon. In the evening the waterfalls and woodland are illuminated, giving the gardens a totally different aspect and atmosphere.
