Another fantastic stay at Chestnut Mews and thank you to Peter and Mandy again for their high standards and value for money. The house was wonderful and very well equipt and the location near to Shanklin Old Village is perfect. Highly recommend!

A lovely place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage and would love to return in the future. It is family friendly with stair gates fitted and play equipment in the garden, together with having comfortable beds and sofas and a very well equipped kitchen. It is also in a good location with only a short walk to the beach and shops. We would thoroughly recommend booking this property.

Enjoyable Trip
Lovely cottage (one of three) on a private estate - short walk to Shanklin old village and beach. Nice eateries particularly Pavarotti but book well in advance. Osborne Hse is a must see - arrive early to avoid queues (they open at 10am). Also Carisbrooke Castle is well worth a visit too. Really lovely island - weather was good so, all in all, a very enjoyable trip.

Shanklin and back...again...
Back again for another year and as good as ever with added treat of new bathroom and en suite fitted out to very high standard. Can't beat this location for tranquility and access to chine, beach and main routes to other parts of the island. Highly recommended.

Lovely family cottage in good location
We had a great stay at Honeysuckle cottage, it was very clean and well equipped, and the garden was a hit with our young children. It was a good location for walking into town and down to the beach, whilst feeling quite peaceful tucked away on a side road. We found everything we needed, including a little stash of toys in the understairs cupboard. We're looking forward to coming again for another holiday!

Great Stay
Me and my family recently enjoyed a week on the IOW in the beautiful honeysuckle cottage.
It was lovely and clean on arrival. And from booking and paying our holiday was very easy and simple.
The cottage was close to amenities we wanted to visit.
The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed and required for our stay.
We’re gutted that it’s already booked for next year but we will hopefully return soon
Thanks Mandy and Peter for allowing us to stay in your cottage.

First Stay in IOW
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle cottage, and it was perfect for our two grandsons aged 6 and 4 years.
Plenty of space in the garden for energetic games, and play houses for imaginary games. The location suited everyone, with quiet evenings and the beach a short walk away.

A home away from home
This was our 4th stay in one of the Chestnut Mews houses and we’ll definitely be back.
The house (Honeysuckle Cottage) was immaculate when we arrived. The welcome pack and bottle of bubbly meant the holiday got off to a great start.
We love the comforts of the house, the beautiful garden and the fantastic location. You have all the ingredients for a great holiday.

The heart of Shanklin Old Village is only a few minutes walk from the cottage, with its pretty thatched cottages, Shanklin Chine, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs, a great pit stop on the way back from the beach ! A ten minute walk will take you to the traditional English seaside town of Shanklin. A ten minute walk will also take you onto Appley Beach, the quieter end of Shanklin's beach, with its safe shallow waters and wide sandy beach. Or you can head out via the Under cliff and discover your own secluded bays, some of which were used by the Islands notorious smugglers! The Isle of Wight with its relaxed atmosphere is a great place to enjoy and unwind, so whether its lazy days on the beach, or adventure you crave, the island has it all.
Getting around
There is a bus stop at the end of priory road, just a couple of minutes walk away. Its nice to take the open top bus around the island to see the sights, just make sure you keep an eye out for low hanging branches. Shanklin station is in the main town of Shanklin, about a fifteen min walk, where you can take the train through to Ryde, another popular seaside town.

How to get there
Isle of Wight Ferry crossings operate for passengers into 5 different Island towns, with three of these services also carrying vehicles. The main ferry links to the Island operate from Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington. Wightlink sails between the mainland and the Isle of Wight on three routes: Wightlink car ferries cross between Lymington and Yarmouth and from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and take roughly 40 minutes, while foot passengers can use the Wightlink catamaran and zip over to Ryde from Portsmouth in approximately 25 minutes. From Ryde Pier Head you can then board the Isle of Wight train right through to Shanklin Station. The Red Funnel car ferry sails between Southampton and East Cowes in roughly 0ne hour, the ferries on this route carry passengers and any vehicle or towed trailer that will fit under a motorway bridge. If travelling on foot Red Funnel operate the Hi-Speed Red Jet between Southampton and West Cowes, this also takes 25 minutes. Hovertravel provides the fastest Isle of Wight ferry service across the Solent and is the world's longest running and only commercial hovercraft operator in Europe. Only carrying foot passengers this ferry service takes you directly to the shore at Southsea or Ryde in just 10 minutes. It is a good idea to book your ferry in advance as they can get booked. Once you have decided on your route please contact us as we have discount codes for our guests with both Wightlink and Red Funnel.
