The Skiach is a luxurious 2-bedroomed apartment within a 19th Century Scottish mansion house set in extensive grounds and located between Coupar Angus and Meigle - just 14 miles from Dundee and 16 miles from Perth. Beautiful countryside surrounds us, and plenty of interesting places to visit nearby including castles and Palaces. The Vale of Strathmore enjoys a microclimate which usually out-performs the general area forecasts. Ski-slopes are nearby and the 30 or more golf courses within as many miles offer golf enthusiasts a selection of challenges. Keys are obtained at our car-port key safe, so you can turn up any time after the stated 'earliest' check-in time. A luxury welcome basket of essentials will be waiting for you in the kitchen. Our guests can enjoy walks in the fields and woodlands, and to use the tennis courts where you will find equipment & games to play in the grounds including Boules/Petanque, Croquet, and a football and frisby are provided for your enjoyment. Relax/picnic nearby our curling rink (now a wonderful place for nature). Indoors, books and games are provided for lazy days spent at The Skiach. Internet/Wifi and laptop are available for your use. We recommend a nearby Spa and pool, as well as restaurants/cafes, and nearby pub (+meals) within a quick walk.

About the neighbourhood
We have all necessary facilities available nearby in Coupar Angus, Meigle or Blairgowrie. A large supermarket in the centre of Coupar Angus, and smaller shops and Post Office within the town centre. There's a large TESCO store in Blairgowrie or Dundee for more selection and variety. Eat out in restaurants and cafes in Coupar Angus, Meigle, Alyth, or Blairgowrie. Find our welcome catalogue in the bureau for business cards and recommendations. Piper Dam nearby is a recommended Gym/Spa and Pool facility at very reasonable day rates - so bring your sports gear! Good activities for older children too (Archery, quad bikes etc). Bringing your cycles? There's numerous trails and roads for cycling, keep your bikes & bike rack safe in our garage.
Getting around
A car is recommended so you can enjoy exploring the area, as there is plenty to visit and see in a reasonably close proximity. However if you're not planning on travelling much, there are good local taxis services from/to the airports and rail stations (local taxis from Coupar Angus or Blairgowrie will give you preferential rates). A bus service to Blairgowrie, Dundee and Perth runs past the Gatehouse, although not very frequent. Treat yourself to a classic car limousine service from/to airports or railway stations or just for a day trip or special evening out - contact us for more details. Or, you can always park your helicopter in the 35 acres of fields!
