The Hayloft at South Littleton was converted from the 18C stone steading a few years ago and combines modern amenities and decor with original features. It's an ideal retreat to enjoy peace and quiet, to use as a base for touring much of Scotland, or to enjoy the local Golf, fishing, walking, riding, cycling and, skiing in winter. The cottage is only 1.5 miles from Blairgowrie town centre yet it lies in the heart of rolling countryside. South Littleton and the surrounding 38 acres was once a berry farm. The kitchen is well equipped and has oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. Upstairs there is a bedroom with two single beds, shower room and livingroom. The cottage is all electric apart from the calor gas fire in the livingroom. Cars can be parked in the courtyard right outside the cottage. More

Interaction with guests
I live on-site and am usually here to give you the keys and show you around the property. If, for any reason, I can't be here to greet you, keys will be left in a key safe by the front door and I'll call in later to answer any questions you may have. If you let me know what kind of things you like to do and see, I can usually point you in the right direction. We also have an excellent Tourist Information office in Blairgowrie for additional information and suggestions for visits, day trips etc.

You approach the cottage down a farm track and we were a bit apprehensive but the accommodation was excellent and our landlady, Hazel, lived next door and could not have made us more welcome or have been more accommodating.. A great place to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our first trip to Scotland. The town nearby is quite lovely and has the convenience of a large supermarket. The home itself is well-appointed. Great back porch overlooking the horses and fields. Lots of room for...More

About the neighbourhood
Situated in the heart of Scotland, Perthshire represents the perfect place to find all that you expect of a great Scottish holiday. Most of Perthshire is little more than one hour by road or rail from Glasgow, Edinburgh, or Aberdeen. Take a walk in Perthshire in spring and summer and discover why this beautiful region is known as ‘Big Tree Country’, home of the tallest trees, widest conifer and tallest hedge in Britain. Use some of the 250 miles of waymarked paths to get to the Roman camps, medieval castles and whisky distilleries where you can spend the day out discovering all about their detailed history.
Getting around
Getting around is best done by car but there's a regular bus service from Blairgowrie to Perth and Dundee where you can get access to services to some of the larger cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness.
