Stirling and Callander only 7 miles away with Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth all under an hour away therefore the Smiddy and Stables Apartments are conveniently located for many visitor attractions, including Stirling. The Smiddy apartment has a large living area with comfy sofabed and TV with intgrated DVD player. The kitchen area is equipped with fridge, oven, hob and microwave. There is also a shower room. The staircase leads to the upper galleried bedroom area (open on one side above the living area), which has a double bed and storage.

We found Smiddy clean but upon opening the door we were greeted by a musty damp odour, then upon entering, the smell of something very unpleasant wafted from behind the fridge. We were later told this was probably a dead mouse in the wall, a hazard of being in the country. This spoilt our stay as the nauseating smell was...

We stayed in both cottages the last weekend in August as we were going to Blair Drummond Safari park. The park is 5 mins drive away and the quaint village of thorn hill is only 5 mins past the cottages. Very cosy,clean, well built, well stocked, lovely houses. Well appointed apartment, although uncomfortably close to neighbouring apartment, and when it's hot there isn't much cross ventilation. That said, we were there during a surprisingly warm time. No actual shower - just a rose on a hose on the tub - and no WI-fi which is annoying. Pleasant setting, close to the road. Washing machine in adjacent building. Neat...

The Cottage is less than 10 minutes drive from Junction 10 on the M9 Motorway. Follow signs for Crianlarich, The Trossachs and Blairdrummond Safari Park. When you have passed the Safari Park on the right hand side, take the second road on the left (signposted A873 to Aberfoyle/Thornhill). Continue on this road and at the end of the long straight section of this road, there is a right-hand bend followed by a left-hand bend and a dip in the road. Corshill Cottage is located to the right of the main road, with entrance being just after the left-hand bend and in the dip of the road. There is plaque on the stone wall at the entrance to the property stating "Corshill Cottage".
