There is a local shop and post office in Deanston village, Doune 1 mile has lovely specialist shops, for larger grocery shopping you will find Tesco and M&S Simply Food in Dunblane and Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi in Stirling.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to Burnside House, and it was as good as we remember. 8 adults in the party but the house is so big that it never felt crowded in any way. Excellent location to visit Stirling and surrounding areas. We has a bracing walk up to Wallace Monument and enjoyed the spectacular views from the top. The log burner was a welcome sight on our return to the house! The house has everything you could ask for, and the games room was very well used! We hope to return to Burnside House again at some point and would definitely recommend to anyone

Perfect in every way
The house was perfect for our needs, it was SPOTLESSLY clean and the attention to detail was second to none. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise, and the games room as a big hit with all the family! The house gave us the space we needed to with my parents and the location allowed us to visit lots of attractions. We even managed a couple of BBQs in the sun!

Burnside
Jim and Brenda are fantastic hosts for a fantastic House. We had originally planned to stay last year but due to Covid had to postpone until this year. The wait was worth it though.
The house is very generous in size and well equipped throughout. Towels and llinen were supplied and changed halfway through our stay. Clothes, T Towels and Oven Gloves were also supplied.
The gardens are bigger than the pictures suggest and have some really nice features like the little pond and bridge. We had a couple of rabbits in the garden most mornings and evenings which we enjoyed watching. Jim looks after the garden and popped by on a few occasions to water the grass and baskets.
The Welcome basket and other bits that we gradually came across were very much appreciated. The kitchen had everything you could need and pantry essentials were really useful. Having two ovens meant everyone could eat their meals at the same time (Gluten Free, Low Carb, Pescatarian and Meat Eaters) which is something we normally cannot do.
We chose Burnside because of the central location as well as being great value for money. We were quite surprised how much there was to do in the area and with the unexpected lovely weather we had we ended up being out more than planned. Nowhere was more than an hour away with the exception of the Nevis Range. We had a few drives to and around Loch Lomond, as well as enjoying some fishing lessons (Wellsfield Farm) and Go Karting (Extreme Karting) which our adult children enjoyed. This meant we didn't feel we got to enjoy the house as much as we could so we plan to return and just chill.
The only thing I would love to see, and this is purely a selfish thing, is a slope/ramp at the side to get to the back of the house and avoid the inner stairs. Once inside the house everything I needed was on the same level and even with my wheelchair I would have been able to get about. But this is me being cheeky!

Absolutely fantastic house in a great location.
At the start of the highlands so areas like the Trussocks are very close by and Edinburgh less than an hour a way. The house was fantastic and our grandchildren loved every minute.
We were unable to travel there because of COVID but our son and family thought that it had everything and more that they expected, well equipped loved the games room and the location.

A Stunning House & Wonderful Hosts
This house is pure luxury. It has four lovely bedrooms with four excellent bathrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped, with everything you could need. There is a lovely large lounge with a log burner and a second quiet sun lounge. Then you have the wonderful games room with a pool table, two TVs with games consoles. There is also a table tennis table in the garage. Brenda left us a great welcome pack and my wife thought the flowers were a lovely touch. Brenda was great answering all our queries and is really interested in her guests. This is a great place for exploring the Trossachs and Central Scotland. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning.

Just arrived home from a fantastic family weekend away at the Burnside House.
Booked for my wife’s birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
Brenda and Jim were fantastic hosts from start to finish!

Amazing amazing house
We have just arrived home after staying at Burnside house the most wonderful place we have loved every single minute it was relaxing and high spec kids loved the games room and adults only problem was the holiday wasn't long enough 😁😁.Special memories made here and will 100% be returning XX Thankyou so much Brenda for the welcome basket too was a lovely touch XX ( Maybe a hot tub would be good )😜😜😜😁😁 x

Wonderful weekend

5 Star spacious accommodation perfect for large group get together
This was the 3rd time we have stayed at Burnside House for a family holiday with the 4 grandchildren. The house is enormous and the games room and table tennis in the garage provides a perfect place for everyone to play different games of an evening or on a rainy day.
The bedrooms are all fine and well fitted out with adequate storage. Having 3 en-suites allows the adults their own facilities.
The kitchen, sun room, dinning room and absolutely huge lounge provide the house with a very spacious amount of alternative rooms allowing different activities to be taking place in each of the rooms at any one time and opportunity for peace and quite for those who wish to read. The huge lounge with log burner provides a great place to for everyone to gather in the evening and play games or watch tv whilst relaxing with the log burner making a very cosy atmosphere.
The house is very well placed for visiting Stirling and there are several interesting places for adults and children nearby.
