What a lovely house and its collocation with the railway was a special treat! We are a bunch of old school chums and we chose this venue for our 52nd reunion. A wonderful location with steam trains passing the windows. With in easy walking distance of town. The accommodation is very spacious easily absorbing large family group's. Highly recommended for a moor's visit.

We visited for a 3 night break to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary along with mum, 2 sons, partners, and 3 kids including a baby and 2 friends who joined us for one of the nights. The town has good selection of shops including a small co-op supermarket, 2 greengrocers, 3 butchers, 4 bakers, 2 chemists and an organic farm shop. Pickering is well blessed with 9 pubs, 11 cafes, 8 takeaways and restaurants. Even more eating pubs in the outlying villages.
Worth a visit in the town, Pickering Castle, (a Norman castle, once owning High Mill)
The church with its wall paintings. Beck Isle local history museum. Rex Whistlers painting in Memorial Hall, A trip on the Railway. Learn about Pickering history on Town walk. Monday street market and monthly farmers market.

The town hosts an annual war weekend, traction engine rally, open studios, music festivals, country and agricultural shows.
