Dating back to 17th Century, our Grade II listed Yorkshire longhouse is located in the picturesque market town of Pickering, at the edge of the beautiful North York Moors National Park. The cottage is a fine example of a cruck-framed Yorkshire longhouse which was traditionally built to accommodate both family and cattle under one roof. It is featured alongside similar longhouses in Ryedale, in a book entitled 'Houses of the North York Moors' by Royal Commission on Historical Monuments. The house is brimming with character having a host of original features such as the oak cruck beams, stone flagged floors, exposed stonework, a traditional cast iron Victorian range with a 'smoke window' in the dining room.

This cottage is in a good location for Pickering, Malton and the surrounding area. The cottage has everything you could possible need during your stay there. It was Very clean comfortable and warm, even though it was freezing outside and snow was forecast. The bedrooms all lovely and warm, comfortable beds and each had its own bathroom. Full of old...

Spacious warm and cosy .Long house is a lovely place to stay, we all really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, comfy bed's and everything we needed was there .Our ages ranged from 6 to 66 but we all enjoyed ourselves and the younger one's cried when we had to go home .Would definitely recommend it.

The Longhouse in Pickering is an atmospheric, spacious and well equipped property. Well sited, within walking distance to all the amenities that Pickering can offer..... The Longhouse was spotlessly clean on arrival........and when we left I hope!! The beds are very, very comfortable, especially so, after a day out exploring the area.. Whitby..Fish and chips at "The Star" restaurant, well...
