Cottage
The modern, bright and spacious detached self catering cottage will comfortably sleep five and provides very attractive and cosy accommodation and is equipped to a high standard. Accommodation comprises of hall, open plan lounge and large kitchen/dining area, utility room, three bedrooms, one king, one twin or super king and one single room. Shower room with walk in shower with deluge shower, complimentary toiletries, toilet and basin. It has its own driveway with parking spaces, garden, outside HOT TUB, patio area with furniture and a Weber Gas BBQ. EV charging point (charging an electric vehicle will be an extra chargeable cost)
Bedding and towels included in weekly charge. Cot (excluding cot linen), Highchair available. Electric hob and oven, dishwasher, American style fridge freezer...

Highly recommended.
This is the third time my wife and I have enjoyed a relaxing break in this excellent holiday cottage. It is well equipped and furnished and spotlessly clean. The views are lovely and it is ideally placed on the edge of a quiet village.
Donna is the perfect host and we have no hesitation in recommending Drumhead .

Just perfect
This is the third time that we have stayed at drumhead cottage and it never disappoints! The cottage is clean and very comfortable with everything that you need for a fantastic stay. The hot tub is lovely with amazing views over the mountains. Donna is close by if you need anything but isn't intrusive. Great location with beautiful walks straight from the cottage. Highly recommend the Finzean farmshop for breakfast, they have the most amazing black pudding. Already looking to book our return trip.

Fabulous holiday cottage
We had a fantastic week here at Drumhead cottage. the cottage is exceptionally well equipped and very comfortable. it is in a beautiful area. donna the host is available if necessary and is very helpful but not in the least intrusive. We certainly hope to return soon.

Great stay
Such a lovely peaceful place with lovely views. Felt very welcoming. Well appointed and very comfortable cottage. Enjoyed the hot tub very much.

Amazing!
Tellement heureux d'avoir trouver ce lieu magnifique! La maison est super bien équipée et extrêmement propre, une literie très confortable! Nous avons passé des très bonne nuits! La vue est sublime et le SPA qui se trouve à l'extérieur est juste la cerise sur le gâteau. Quand à Donna elle est très accueillante et à l'écoute, je recommande cet endroit, c'est un petit trésor! P.s: profitez également des deux vaches 🐄 que nous avons appelé "freddy et georgette" 😉

Perfect Place to Unwind & Relax
This truly was an amazing stay! Drumhead, what a great location with magnificent scenic views, a very relaxing hot tub, good high-end barbecue, all complemented with a fantastically spotless cottage.
Our host, Donna was really helpful, with suggestions on places to visit and go for food etc. Donna comes every day to clean the hot tub, and you will feel that cleanliness reflects across the whole cottage. I would highly recommend Drumhead cottage, as a family, couple or even as a group. You will not be disappointed.
We went as 3 generations of the family, my Wife and I, our 2 kids and granny and I have to say the location was perfect for all ages.
The Cottage has folders and maps with lots of information about the nearby local spots to visit, there are tons of activities to choose from, from a trip to nearby castles to fishing, horse riding and more. The cottage itself was amazing, with plenty of space. We happened to stay during the week of a heatwave over the entire UK, and we didn’t go anywhere for the 2 hottest days, just spent time in the cottage and enjoyed the very quiet, serene relaxing cottage making good use of BBQ and the hot tub.
Walking distance from Finzean (pronounced ‘Fin-in’) Estate Farm Shop and café, beautiful walks around the estate and local area and the fantastic Cows in the field are a delight to watch.

A great place to stay
We had a very lovely few days staying here. Everything was just as described and it was spotlessly clean.
On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Donna, who lives next door (but the cottage still felt completely private).
The beds were comfy, shower great, hot tub amazing (and was heated up ready for our arrival). The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals, a nice big fridge freezer, washing up liquid, a dishwasher and dishwasher tablets. We didn’t use it but there was also a washer/dryer and washing powder.
The lounge area was cosy and there was a thoughtful selection of DVDs as well as a few books about local history which we appreciated.
The cottage is in such a tranquil setting, ideal for switching off and there are plenty of lovely walks in the area. Banchory is not far away for all shops etc.
All in all a lovely few days. Thank you Donna and hope to visit again in future

A lovely stay to recharge
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped in a scenic location. We did not use the hot tub but enjoyed using the patio area. Lovely walks around Finzean recommended by Donna.

Absolutely lovely! All in all Perfect!
Truly was an amazing stay at Drumhead... Great location, brilliant views, a very relaxing hot tub, good quality bbq, and fantastic spotless cottage.
Donna was really helpful and went the extra mile to find charging points nearby, she does really put her soul into this and the extremely clean, really really well-equipped cottage is proof of that.
We went as a couple and have to say the location was perfect with glorious scenic views (definitely take your best camera). You will be treated with lots of information about the nearby local spots to visit, there are tons of activities to choose from, from a trip to nearby castles to fishing, horse riding, beaches, and more. The cottage itself is amazing and you will likely want to stay a few days in the cottage and enjoy the very quiet, serene relaxing cottage and if the weather is good I highly recommend making good use of bbq and the tub - we were lucky enough to have decent weather and have to say the bbq was perfect, very easy to use.
Donna comes every morning to clean the hot tub, and you will feel that cleanliness reflects across the whole cottage.
Being an EV owner, there are charging spots nearby which was a definite plus for us. There is a tesla charger 6 miles away from the cottage for all those who are worried about charging. I had the old type 2 chargers so my supercharger was limited however if you are going on a trip to the nearby town likelihood you will find a supercharger especially if you have a CCS charger or a CCS adaptor - we didn't have this luxury but we still didn't really have any issues with charging...
To summarize I would highly recommend Drumhead cottage, as a couple or even as a group. You will not be disappointed in fact you will come out wanting to go back again.

About the neighbourhood
Our beautiful and comfortable holiday cottage is located in the peaceful village of Finzean, great for getting away from it all. You can enjoy many short walks from the front door or have relaxing soak in the hot tub while enjoying the views of the hills beyond. If you’re in the mood for exploring, the closest towns Banchory and Aboyne are just 10 minutes drive, Ballater is 30 minutes, Balmoral 35 minutes and Braemar 50 minutes drive away. They offer an abundance of leisurely sightseeing, shopping, fishing, golf, restaurants and pubs. If you’re feeling energetic there’s plenty of options to enjoy like skiing, shooting, fishing, horse riding, castles and sightseeing.

How to get there
From Banchory at the traffic lights in the town centre at the junction of Dee Street, turn down Dee Street and cross the River Dee Bridge. Continue on this B976 road for approx 7 miles and you will enter the village of Finzean. At the sharp corner take the left fork (signposted Finzean Farm shop) continue on this road until the first road to your right signposted Finzean School, Finzean Church & Finzean Farm Shop. We are the first house on the left before you reach Finzean Church, you will see our sign at the cottage driveway entrance. From Aboyne follow the sign posts for South Deeside Road (cross the River Dee Bridge) and take a left along the South Deeside B976 road for approx 7 miles (go through Ballogie) and after the summit of Corsedardar hill take a rIght passed school / shop and continue until you pass the church and you will see the cottage driveway signposted on your right.
