House Rental
Maison de la riviere is a 3-bedroom boutique holiday cottage by the river Saison, in SW France. Recently and lovingly renovated, it boasts two stylish sitting-rooms, a large fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious terrace with views over the river Saison, a decadent bathroom and 10 acres of land for you to roam around. Take refreshing swims or fish in the river from our very own secluded beach, enjoy fresh eggs, leisurely walks or feed our farm animals (five goats, a horse and two ponies).
Our three tastefully-decorated double-bedrooms sleep six people, but up to eight people can sleep in the cottage, thanks to the comfortable sofa-bed in the garden room. The two siting rooms and the spacious kitchen offer enough space for socialising and relaxation, especially if you are in a group with child...

A memorable getaway all-year-round
Whether you want a bit of Vitamin Sea (Ocean) or a glimpse of the Pyrénées National Park Maison de la Rivière promises a memorable getaway all-year-round.
Just 1h away from Biarritz, our drive was smooth, we had a great time and managed to sleep like babies in the newly refurbished cottage. A nice selection of restaurants nearby and a just few minutes drive from Sauveterre de Bearn, made Maison de la Rivière the perfect holiday spot. Adding the guests' hospitability and knowledge of the area, all these are the perfect ingredients to a very relaxing gateway.
Highly recommend them!

Idillic setting perfect for recharding your batteries/ Pet friendly
I stayed here with my husband and our dog for 2 weeks and it was absolutely wonderful. The cottage is so beautifully decorated and the location is perfect. We started feeling relaxed from the moment we arrived as you are right in the middle of nature. The terrace at the back of the cottage has a lovely view of the river and sitting out there listening to the river is so calming and peaceful. We spent out time sunbathing, swimming in the river, which was magical and going for walks exploring the beautiful area which has several Unesco heritage sites. And not to mention tasting all the amazing wines and food that the region has to offer.
This is highly recommend, you won't regret booking it!

A wonderful Long weekend by the river
I cannot recommend this place enough, we had such a wonderful relaxing time in the most charming setting. We loved the accommodation where design and comfort are well considered.
We enjoyed our escape from London relaxing in the sun on the terrace watching no the local nature. Among the highlights were morning coffee and an evening drinks Sanceterre-de-Bearn and a day by the sea in beautiful Biarritz.
Other highlights were the walks and swimming in the river, watching the birds and animals.
We will definitely return!

Charming
A holiday at Maison de la riviere is a charming way of experiencing the French countryside whilst being less then an hour away from some of the most beautiful spots in Europe. So, by staying at Iulia and Ali's guest house, you get best of many worlds. In summer you can either go swim in the river that is literally behind the house and then lounge around the garden or you can go sunbathe in the elegant Biarritz beaches. In winter you can get cosy by the fire or go ski in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. I could go on forever, because the place is so well located that it offers a lot of possibilities for all types of fun. Just ask the hosts, they are warm and fun people, that will spare no effort to make you feel at home and to help you with tips to make the best of your holiday.

amazing location, stunning views
We stayed at the cottage for 3 night for a friend's wedding. The accommodation is very cosy, clean and spacious, a short walk to the river and fantastic fields.
Alistair and Iulia are very welcoming, always there to accommodate our needs. this was a dream break, I can't wait to be back!

Romantic & charming place
Amazing place, almost one hour from Biarritz and less than an hour to Spanish boarder . Great view from the house towards the river where you can swim in peace! I spent an amazing weekend in this peaceful and romantic place in July!

About the neighbourhood
Bearn des Gaves is perfectly located half-way between the Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees. We are less than an hour drive to Biarritz, one and half hours away from the Basque food capital of San Sebastian, and one and a half hours away from the Pyrenees National Park and its ski slopes. A large network of rivers criss-crosses the region, making it a paradise for trout and salmon fishermen and river adventure enthusiasts.
Getting around
The A64 motorway connects us to Biarritz, San Sebastian, as well as the beaches in Les Landes in the West, as well Pau and Lourdes to the East. We are easy to find, only 20 minutes from exit 7 on the motorway, just outside the village of Sauveterre de Bearn.
