The house is light and bright with splashes of colour. Every window has a different view. The down stairs has 3 separate rooms kitchen, dining room and lounge. Cooks will not be disappointed as there is a double range master oven and integrated dishwasher fridge and freezer and ample work tops with a stone flagged floor. The dining room has a large stone fireplace with a coal effect gas burner. There is dining table and chairs large enough for 6 people to sit for meals. As keen walkers ourselves we have covered the walls with Peak District maps and general information. There is a cabinet with all sorts of ideas to support planning Peak District activities and adventures . The lounge is spacious but cosy with comfortable seating and also has a coal effect gas burner. For entertainment there is BT infinity wifi along with TV,DVD, Docking station, board games or simply a peaceful room to read and chat. The front bedroom has double aspect windows with an en-suite shower room . The back bedroom has french doors leading to a secluded balcony with small table and chairs for two. You can spend time with a drink and enjoy the surrounding ancient woodland and visiting birds. Both double beds have a luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding. The bathroom is spacious with a rolled top bath and shower enclosure. The garden has sunny spots for sitting and enjoying picturesque views of Eyam edge and the roof tops of Eyam village.More

A lovely lounge, good kitchen, dining area, boot room, utility room and lovely outside (very private) space. Immaculately presented (really immaculate!). The village is very interesting...if you know...More

A really lovely cottage everything you could have wanted. It was perfect for me and my children for a short half term break. Really close to all attractions and a great walk for kids on the doorstep. Would definitely go back!

The cottage was warm, spacious and spotlessly clean, very well equipped and in a great, quiet central location. Nothing more to say!

About the neighbourhood
Eyam is one of the best-preserved villages in the Peak District and is the famous 'plague village', which went into voluntary quarantine when the plague was imported from London in 1665. There are many fine traditional cottages and houses in Eyam. Parts of the village have been kept as they looked several centuries ago, especially the area around Jonas House. Many of the buildings also have plaques giving details of their history and the part their inhabitants played in the Plague history. The church in the centre of the village has many relics of the Plague, including Mompesson's chair, gravestones of Plague victims and the Parish Register recording the deaths. Within the church there is a small exhibition about the Plague. Also on the main street lies Eyam Hall, a Jacobean mansion...
