Holiday Rental House
The Limes is a Georgian period building, fully restored and updated with many 'eco' features, yet still retaining its period character. The accommodation has been awarded 5 Star Gold by VisitEngland and has a Green Tourism Gold Award. It has traditional sash windows and views overlooking the Norfolk countryside and the Norfolk Broads. The spacious bedroom has a king sized bed with the unusual feature of a large, freestanding bath in the room. There is plenty of space for a cot, should you wish to bring a little one. There is also a luxurious walk-in wetroom downstairs. The sitting room overlooks the garden and has a large woodburning stove to supplement the underfloor heating, books, games and DVDs. The Limes is part of Limes Farm, formerly a working farm situated in a secluded, romantic setting. The property is tucked away down a country lane, right in the heart of the Broads and is accessed through a neighbouring farm, via a tiny rural access road. More

Interaction with guests
Our guests receive a personal welcome and introduction to the property. The welcome pack includes a comprehensive file of information about the house and its history, information about the property itself (WiFi codes etc); as well as a brief description of the immediate area, including maps and local facilities. There is another, huge file (regularly updated) containing details on a wide variety of things to see and do, to suit all ages and interests. However, we live on site and are always happy to assist guests, answer any queries, or make suggestions as required.

Thanks for a great review! For the benefit of those who like walking to the pub, we should mention that there are much quieter (though somewhat longer) routes to both our village pubs, along country lanes and footpaths.

About the neighbourhood
Ludham is ideally placed as a Norfolk holiday destination. The village has pubs, a post office and shops and also has a historic church and popular tearoom at the centre. The Broads National Nature Reserve surrounds the village, which is also just a short drive from beautiful unspoilt beaches in one direction and Norwich city centre in another. Ludham Bridge, How Hill and St Benet's Abbey are all accessible on foot or by bike. Cycle and kayak hire are easily available locally, as are day boats and guided trips - all are ideal for exploring the Broads and discovering the myriad of native wildlife. A variety of historic places of interest and renowned gardens are also on offer nearby.
Getting around
Ludham is ideally placed for exploring the Broads, as the village is located right in the midst of the Broads National Park. It is perfectly possible to leave the car parked for the entirety of your holiday and get around by cycle, boat or on foot: in fact, you will experience many more of the delights of the Broads first-hand if you do so. There is also a regular, but limited local bus service, for guests who prefer to use public transport. However, most guests prefer to combine a few 'car-free' days with making short journeys to access the wonderful local beaches, or venturing further afield to explore the many and varied places of interest that the area offers. Limes Farm has a Type 2 EV chargepoint on site, for electric vehicles.
