The cottage is set over 2 floors with 2 double bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. Beautifully renovated with wooden floors throughout, It has it's own entrance hallway, lounge with wood burning stove, TV, Radio and DVD plus free WiFi. It features a fully equipped modern kitchen with full facilities, microwave oven, gas cooker, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer plus washer and dryer.
The cottage is fully heated with underfloor heating, and a luxury bathroom featuring full size bath with rainfall shower and twin basins.
We are a short 5 minute walk into the centre of Hugh Town and The Quay for easy access to the off Islands. We sit next to two quiet beaches, within easy reach to a number of art galleries, cafes, a sailing school and coastal walks.
Prices listed here are a 'from price' for the low season, please enquire with dates for a full quotation. Prices & Bookings via Trip Advisor include Trip Advisor payment protection at additional cost. We can store your luggage until the house is ready for you, we are a short 10 minute walk from the main town with local Shops, Pubs and Cafes.
The keys to the property will be available from 4pm on your day of arrival, we will be around the house to welcome you in.

Beautiful cottage set in an amazing location near the beach. The house has been renovated to the highest standard and has every amenity you would want for a comfortable stay.
The house is accessed along a beach road, so not suitable for very old or infirm guests. A short 10-minute walk, you are in the centre of Hugh Town and the local shops, bars and tripper boats to the other islands.
The owners are friendly and unobtrusive, but on hand if you need information or help.
We cannot recommend this holiday cottage more highly and look forward to returning soon.

not a luxury but basic accomodation
This cottage is well placed but the sea view is only from the bathroom.
The cottage is very basic with only the bare necessities supplied.
Very cold when the weather is not fine
The walk to the nearest town is good for the young

The sea view can be enjoyed from the bedrooms and bathrooms, we do not advertise this as a key benefit, but we are 50 metres from the beach.
The cottage is considered luxury for The Isles of Scilly and above expectations compared to equivalent Duchy of Cornwall properties, which would charge a 25%+ premium on our prices.
The cottage has every modern convenience for a self-catering cottage, including a fully equipped kitchen, washing appliances, full entertainment system with satellite TV, and full Wi-Fi. We are not a hotel. We went out of our way to provide you with a hot meal on arrival as a courtesy, we aim to please where we can. But as a self-catering, you are expected to meet your own dietary requirements or eat out.
Unfortunately, we experienced an unusual cold snap while you were staying and increased the underfloor heating at your request. (Furthermore, we pushed it to 26 degrees C in the lounge!)
We are positioned out of town and the location can be viewed on the map provided, we also provide a link to Google maps in our welcome e-mail sent out a month prior to arrival.
We are sorry you did not enjoy The Isles of Scilly, it is a unique location and does not provide "seaside attractions" of larger communities.
Our visitors come here to enjoy walks and traditional local beach or boating experiences.
We hope you had a safe journey home, thank you again for staying with us.

Great location & excellent clean, comfortable accommodation
Lovely property, easy walking distance to Hugh town & the quay (15 mins). Extremely well kitted out, great decor, large, comfortable beds. A great deck to sit out & enjoy breakfast / evening sun.
Our 1st trip to the Isles of Scilly, this is a gem.

Wonderful accommodation and base for the Isles of Scilly
Newfort House was our stay for our first time in the Isles of Scilly and we couldn't have made a better choice. The house is stylishly decorated, with large comfortable bedrooms and a lovely inviting bathroom. Tim was always attentive to our needs.
The house in Porthloo, overlooks the bay towards the quay and is short 10 minute walk to the shops in Hugh Town and only another few minutes to the quay for the tripper boats, which we used three times during our stay. All the off islands are worth visiting, each with a different character and all stunning.
Walking the other way from the house takes you immediately on the coastal path, with panoramic views across to Tresco and St Martin's
I forgot to mention we also took our dog, who also felt immediately at home. We will return :-)

A lovely house in a great location. Definitely worth a visit.
Very helpful owners for this lovely house. The surrounding area is full of beautiful beaches with lots of opportunities for excellent walks. Highly recommended.

Amazing Property
Newfort House is a beautiful restored property & wins hands down for places to stay on Scilly. Rob & Tim have thought of everything, from the arrival pack, luxury toiletries & stylish, yet comfortable furnishings.
Our doggy Judy, enjoyed running along the beach in the early mornings, just a stone's throw away from the house and lounging in the private garden.
This was our 2nd year at Newfort & as we sat and sadly waited for the Skybus to take us home, we booked again for 2020.
Be quick if you want to stay as bookings go fast! 🐾💕

Lovely Newfort House
We couldn’t of stayed in a better place. Newfort House is stylish and beautifully decorated. It is very well appointed with everything you need. Not far to walk from St Mary’s Quay so very good place to stay if you want to travel around the islands. Nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, a big bathroom and lovely sitting room and kitchen. A very nice deck out the back to have breakfast on or a few Gin & Tonics in the evening. Tim and Rob are the perfect hosts very polite and friendly and always available to help if you need anything. I would not hesitate to come back to Newfort House and on saying that we hope to come back soon. I have stayed on the Scillies before and this place is the best by far.

Wonderful holiday at Newfort House!
Newfort House is a wonderful place to stay. Ideal location to explore the island, beaches, coastline and Hugh Town, including the harbour for trips to the other islands. Beautiful property, architect designed and furnished! Lovely deck at the back to have a drink in the sun or during sundown! Very friendly hosts who were great to chat to, who also gave us lots of privacy. Spent the week with friends, we had a great time. Hope to be back!

I can thoroughly recommend staying at Newfort House. The accommodation was first class from the style of the house it's internal decoration the quality of the soft furnishings,the cleanliness of the property all the mod cons everything you needed had been thought of even games,the latest paperback books"heaps " to choose from and the BBQ which we used every day.We loved its idyllic position close to the beach and on our first day the sand actually seemed to glitter. We had a fantastic stay . The Scilly isles are one of the worlds best kept secrets.shhhh!!! Give it a try you will be wowed !! Thanks to the wonderful hosts.

Newfort House is on the bay of Hugh Town and close to Harry's Walls a 15th Century Fort, from which the old stones were used to build the house. It is set between two quiet beaches. Hugh Town is the central hub with its cluster of shops, banks, churches, post office, cafés, galleries, restaurants and pubs as well as the wonderful museum. It has three lovely beaches in very close proximity – Porthcressa with a children’s play area close by; Town Beach, a perfect spot to watch the comings and goings on the Quay; and Porthmellon 1 minute from Newfort House hosts the Sailing Centre.
Getting around
One of the most enjoyable things to do on the Isles of Scilly is to hop onto a 'tripper' boat and go explore. It's the best way to get a real flavour of island life. All the islands are really close together - just a 20 minute or so boat ride - so it's perfectly feasible to stay on St Mary's for your entire holiday and visit all the others whilst you are here.
Once landed on an off-island, it's generally a case of walking your way around the stunning coastlines, stopping by galleries and honestly stalls, but essentially marvelling at the incredible views and natural beauty of it all.

How to get there
Arriving in the Isles of Scilly by boat from Penzance after a 2 hour 45 minute mini-cruise is wonderful. As soon as you set sail aboard the Scillonian III, you’ll already sense the gentler pace of life; your journey allows you time to relax. The voyage also gives you a stunning seaside view of Cornwall’s quaint villages, the world-renowned open air Minack Theatre and the Land’s End peninsula. The Scillonian III runs between March and October six days a week, seven in high season. By Air there are three departure points from the mainland – Exeter Airport which is 60-minute flight (March to October), Newquay Cornwall Airport which takes 30 minutes, and Land’s End which is just a 15-minute hop to the islands.
